3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsI dunno whats up, but nowadays when I go to play a video game..it's just flat out boring. Pretty much no matter what game. It just feels like I'm totally wasting my time when I'm mashing buttons, and that I could be spending my time to do something more productive. And I've grown accustomed to the thought that playing video games makes you not cool cuz' playing video games is not a skill at all, and thus your less valuable of a person, and thus makes you a nobody in life with no name for yourself.
Does anyone else think the same way? And those of you who don't can cuss me out or whatever but yeh.
Also I wanna put out there that playing facebook games like farmville is the most loserish thing ever and it bugs the living hell out of me when I see people playing those. >.<

You just don't understand the point of entertainment.
What kind of fucking game have you been playing? There are tons of games with a great plot and gameplay mechanics. Try playing one of bioware's recent hits and call me in the morning.
I feel you. I'd much rather play sports and party than play video games. But I'm not saying I don't play vid games anymore, I just play sparingly, like once or twice a week, but never spending too much time playing.
I cannot believe the gods are playing dice with the universe.
Is it for the fact you're getting older?
I've never beaten a Pokemon game. Ever.
Guess what I'm not giving up until I beat that fucker?
Life is a performance, and the world is full of critics. Give it your all like it's your last show.

But no one posts in the video game forum!
I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing

Yeh maybe I am just growing up.
And I haven't really played any RECENT games lately. Mostly cuz' I don't wanna waste any more money on that stuff. I'd rather buy things I could use like a computer or something.

If you are playing online, it's no surprise thay you are getting bored of games. Singleplayer is far more engaging and interesting than multiplayer will ever be as long as the developers are good. I never used to watch many films when i played games. But now that a lot of games focus on multiplayer i tend to watch more films now and go back through all the films i've missed.
I usually get bored of games so i either draw or watch TV or movies instead of playing games. Playing retro games for like 30 minutes a couple of times a day is fun too.
With me I like playing multiplayer games wayyyy more than one player. I can hardly even play one player at all!
And I"m not talking playing online though. That's boring as hell too. I'm talking multiplaying with people in your house sittin right next to your buddy mashing goomba heads. :D

Video games are a lot like reading books, it's a waste of time unless it's for educational purposes.

No need to be an asshole. Plus this isn't really about a specific video game or anything. It's about his feelings toward video games in general.

Your choice, or rather not choice, just isn't your flavor anymore. As for me, I'm still playing some games, Fable, GTA, Black and White, Sims, Empire Earth, yeah. I'm more into the plots of games, though - aside from The Sims, and maybe Empire Earth, that's just fun.
That's me though, why would anybody want to cuss you out for not enjoying something?
I used to think the same, and then I started chilling with stoners and realized, as lonh as its just entertainment, and not obsession, its all cool.
Vote Green.
Sig by PabMo. Thank you very much.
Can I just punch you in the nuts now? Go play Mass Effect or something.
i play video games to burn time until i go to bed and then wake up and play video games to burn time to go to bed and then wake up and burn time to go to bed and then wake up and play video games to burn time to go to bed.

It feels like I'm wasting my life when I don't play them. But if you're not having fun with them, yeah you're wasting your time. If it's not fun, don't do it. If you're only not liking them because everyone will think you're a loser, then that's pretty foolish. Being able to do what you enjoy without other people's thoughts influencing you is something everyone should learn. Of course, there are certain limits to that idea, but that should be obvious.

I went through that for a period of several years until I got some major improvements in my setup:
A 47" LCD
An Xbox 360 Slim with a 250g hard drive
Several games for it
A really good pair of 2.1 speakers.
Basically, What I'm saying is, by getting something new, I became re-interested.
Have you gotten anything drastically new recently?

Did... did you just insult him for not playing video games? Okay fine, punch me in the nuts. Punch me as hard as you can in the nuts, because I don't play video games. Video games, to me, are just boring. I'd much rather be on the BBS chatting with people than pwning n00bs at Black Cocks.

i understand this somewhat i have been there where i delt like the games were beating me down and almost controlling me but i think that getting things done and playing after is entertaining now dont get me wrong if i have something better to be doing like working hanging out or going to parties thats what i do but i think almost every video game is educational (not saying all are such as button mashing games) weather its point and click where you pay close attention to details and words to connect a puzzle, action to develope hand-eye coordination, basic puzzle games to be able to see similaraties in things which really made me learn to appreciate art and the way things flow together or typing games (a very necessairy skill in most of todays world) i believe that games can be good but overuse is what interferes with peoples lives good luck with your issue hope my advice is useful
