It looks like you guys organised this contest well, it's looking very clean.

You have no idea how hard it is right now to stop myself from spamming OMG! everywhere!
I absolutely can't believe that I came first! Thankyou all so much for creating the competition and putting all your efforts into analysing every track. There's so much time and patience taken and we all really appreciate it. The dedicated community is what makes the audio section in Newgrounds special and addictive. I learned a lot by doing this contest and im sure it has made us all improve whether it was something huge or something very little.
Thanks so much for the first place, sig and store credit. :D

np man - the goal here is an attempt to repair the audio portal forum community, as I feel it has severely suffered over the past coupel of years, with people leaving and such. Hopefully the NACs will remind everyone of why we all came to ngs - to HAVE FUN!
and you totally deserved 1st place dude - your submission was awesome. :)

Thanks Knetter! I really appreciate that. :) I've been listening to the tracks too. There's alot of soul in them, so many fantastic tracks. I get the impression that the new NAC is already on it's way to cranking up the bar to higher heights.
Nice work everyone. This is probably my favorite genre of music for making animations. I'll just bookmark this thread

Congrats peoples!
Cant wait for more NAC's
Didn't have time to finish my track but I don't I would have submitted it anyway since it was more a soothing track with little instrumental change/diversion although it's always essentially, especially with melody but repetition is good if done well, homophony and polyphony and such.
Congratulations to all the winners and those that participated, might properly review some of the tracks myself but I am seemingly busy so it's far apart.
If anyone is interested though, here's the WIP track I was making: http://www.truploader.com/view/446193
Still working on it, experimenting with the second transition.
Congrats to all the winners!
Well performed contest right here, thumbs up!

Alright so as promised we will display any reviews that the judges don't feel they want to personally give to the users.. here.
Here are Edgen's reviews!
hamstercake - His Final Act
This entry made me feel pretty good. From the lush instrumentation to the solid sweeping music I felt like I was on another world suiting up for an adventure of a lifetime. There were a few times where the piece got a little bit repetitive in the orchestration towards the end as I wish you took the drums and varied them up. Nice build to the end. Thanks for sharing.
Mrmilkcarton - Lost But Not Forgotten
This one felt like a trailer but could have been beefed up a bit more to really amp up the intensity. I liked the feel of the string and choir elements for the 2nd act. The middle part I started to find a parttern in the music with repeating the melody twice and moving into another section. Overall, I enjoyed how you took me on an adventure with the piece ending with the beautiful piano solo in the end.
XayberOptix - Warped Galaxy
This definitely has the opening feel to an epic space battle. I think the mix could have been a little bit better as the moving strings in the middle seem to settle just in the back. Overall, I solid entry.
Cleverhill - Dream of being best
I liked the feeling of this one. I did... However; I have a cue almost very similar to it and I would venture to say the same chord progression is wildly used in so many songs. It's a safe and feel good sound that can really pull the heart strings. I enjoyed the drums, but I do wish they were built up and varied a little bit more. Thank you for entering.
PeterSatera - The Superbugs Attack
You definitely set the tone with the opening minute of the track, but I wish you could have spent a little more time on the instrument programming. I think you could have put a little more time to really nail the dyanmics of the piece with envelopes to really beef up your samples. When it does kick in, I really could see a wonderful battle. It's not really a dangerous battle, but one you'd expect to see on the high seas perhaps? Sure, that's probably dangerous, but a fun epic war. I enjoyed the feeling at 2:00 min but I wish the drums could be varied a bit more. Great orchestration overall and I enjoyed this very much.
SBB - Sunken City
This was such a vast difference from the other cues as this one really takes you deep into your world. I see drone workers going about their daily lives. Perhaps one has a personality different from the others and watch him as his mind wonders to the heavens above. Definitely a surreal kind of piece. Thank you for entering.
MJTTOMB - Ballroom, 1899
I have to say I'm definitely not a fan of the samples, but I really enjoyed the orchestration. You seem to have a good grasp writing this style of music. I could see you printing this off, handing it to a conductor and orchestra playing it. Find some better samples and you've got a great classical piece on your hands. Thank you for entering the most unique sound of the bunch.
ProudAardvark - The False Memory
I really liked the tones and the chords of this piece and how it made me feel. I could just close my eyes and drift away. Next thing I know I'm waking up to something unsettling as you take me to the next part of this journey. I think you've managed to capture a piece that reflects your inner emotions. You are all over the place in terms of mood and I dig it! Thank you for sharing.
