This is a serious thread by a serious person.
Taxes are coming in soon, and I need a regular hobby to get my ass out of the house. I've decided upon hunting. Seeing as there is plenty of wild country and game around here to do so. That, and I miss the taste of venison, rabbit, and squirrel. Good stuff there if cooked properly. I'm familiar with cleaning game, the bloodletting, ripping off rabbit skins as if they were socks, etc.
I've decided upon a remington 870 shotgun. Not quite sure what model would suit my needs though. I need something all purpose, as I don't plan on hunting anything in particular, those above that are mentioned, and some fowl.
As for barrel size, I'm eyeing the 12 gauge. I'm not wanting to spend more than 600 bucks.
I'm vaguely familiar with shotguns. That being that I know how to load, aim, fire, and take care of one, but I'm not quite sure about all the different configurations, barrel types, etc.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
