I have a sleep disorder, causes hyper realistic and long lasting dreams. I can't directly control my dream though.

Just think of something else while dreaming.
Like if you have a nightmare, think about something good, like a cookie.
Sometimes, I dream about my dead wife and then a train passes through, with a weird noise.
'He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.' - Samuel Johnson
I'd rather have a suspensful dream, where I don't know what happens next.
I try to control them. But it's only worked a couple times. When I was little.

PRO TIP: Take Nyquil to have extremely fucked up dreams.
That's impossible in my dreams. Even If I go charging out like a mad man I'll still die. Most of the time when I'm aware it is a nightmare I commit suicide to get it over with quickly. And I say suicide as in going staight to the monster or w/e the hell is trying to kill me, and cursing at it, then letting it kill me

I, if I have a bad dream, always have a knife handy, so I would slit my throat if nothing works.
Inception special features documentary, you guys should watch it.
I cant dream either that or I cant remember them.
I always control my dreams, I am like the ultimate action-hero in my dreams.
In one of them I actually simply stepped out of my front door en started killing the entire world population, who all seemed to move in my direction. Ahh good times.
Whenever I dream it's very vivid and it goes fast like someone turned on the fast forward button and I'm all like "woah holy shit" and then I just don't do anything.
I cannot control them. It´s impossible!
It's not about the destination.
It's about the journey.

Then you simply kill yourself to end your dream?
I have a lot of lucid dreams. They are great, but there's real techniques behind it. It's tricky and you need a bit of knowledge to be able to do the advanced stuff.
Nightmares are easy. Ignore the problem, it goes away. That's the way things work in dreams. Think of it like Minecraft, if you've played it - the game only renders chunks in a radius around the player, so the skeletons a few hundred miles away can't get you because they don't exist.
Except, in a dream if you study the pavement in the middle of a nightmare, or do something normal like focus on making coffee, the monster fades away before you know it.

Whenever I do control my dreams (which is extremely rare), for some unknown reason, I make them worse instead of better.
Whenever I am finally able to control my dreams, I start to wake up and I can't get back to sleep, and if I do, then I go back to not being able to control my dreams.
I still can't do that, I still keep thinking it's all real.
Just chillin'
You can learn to controll them...

My morals keep hoping onboard my mind when I'm having dreams.
Just lately I had a dream there was some SMOKIN HOT PIECE O ASS tryin to get me to fuck her, but I was all like " What would 'girlfriend' think about this? She'd be really dissapointed in me..." ... So I turned down SHPoA and resumed dreaming.
Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

God damn: I get that too.
Anyway; this is a very interesting topic. I've found many times when I do gain control and trying to remake anything just too much of a strain, and just try to move to a new area so my subconscious. does it for me. Then there are times when its gets weird; many times when I open books their empty and also computer screens are always whited out.
I also have a two other types of dreams that seem odd to me.
Replay Dreams:
When some dreams end; it just starts all over again with me knowing the outcome but have no power to change it good or bad. Almost makes me feel like Dr. Manhattan from the Watchmen.
Death Dreams
I usually hear people talk about these and wake up. I don't know if im the only one, but when I die in a dream like falling from a high place I don't wake up at all. Instead im in this state of immobilization with the constant thought " I'm dead" over and over and occasionally I get back up because of another thought " I'm not done"
