Interesting. I llike his work a lot. Too bad I never saw anything about why he is taking some of his movies off the site(aside from his bordom excuse).

I definatly think you should do more interviews with artists. It would be a great idea I think!

Nice interview Tom. I was wondering...Can I write a story for NG DOCS? I already wrote one. It's really good. Creepy though, and strange too. Gaurentteed to make u ask, "What the fuck was this guy on?"! But it's a really good story. I have a sequel I could post later too. Want me to email it?

As for me, I haven't really seen much of his movies, so I can't judge them, but I'm off to watch them now.

That interview was really well done there Tom. It gave us a better understanding of what illwillpress' mind is doing with the Neurotically Yours series. Its kind of weird, after reading the interview, I kind of gained a little respect for him. Except for the jealousy of having no talent in not liking his movies part. I just think they got stale, not that I'm jealous. I know I have no talent and I've learned to deal with it.

I scanned over it briefly until I got bored, like I did with his movies. I guess they're not for me; same background, idiot character pissing and whining about whatever with no real animation, no thanks. ...Oh, but hey, I'm speaking out from a lack of talent and success, right? Sure, everyone who DARES to criticize Illwillpress is all full of Sour Grapes. (I've been a legitimate published newspaper cartoonist for 12 years, my animations were to be part of a show on the Sci-Fi Channel that unfortunately fell through when they changed management, and I did some work on the 3rd Series of Garbage Pail Kids cards, due this September, which accounted for my recent inability to turn out animations in a timely fashion. How's that?) Wow, I guess I DID read that part, and the part where he says he likes Morrissey! (snicker!!!)

I like the whole new NGMag thingy though. Cool design, and it's nice to have all that content in one place.

Tom, you should have asked him to put subtitles on his movies because i can only understand half of the stuff he says.

And interview Strawberry Clock if you can, or at least one of the key Clock members.

I think we've done enough ragging on IllWillPress anyway. It got nowhere, and he'll be popular for another while at least. Calling him stupid names did nothing, and, although I'm not a fan of his work, maybe we should give him a rest.

WOW... just got done reading the article. I like the NY stuff, but he kind of comes off like asshole. Sorry to say but didn't the struggling artist shit kind of crap out in the 90's when cobain shot himself or is that one a timeless classic.

Just read the interview. Great questions and lots of good info. I also found it inspiring in a way because I love to hear about where people came from and where they hope to go. I appreciated most some of the comments illwill had on the tone of NG users as well as the importance of netowrking and supporting fellow animators. There are a lot of people on here that take for granted both the effort that goes into running NG as well as the effort users put into their sumbitted work. It would be really nice to see a lot less empty complaints and more reviews offering constructive and well thought out criticism. I'm not asking for a utopia, nor am I ingnoring the fact that there are a lot of users out there who do put a lot of thought into their reviews and support the artists in ways that they can (reviews, buying merchandise, participating in forum discussions, etc.)

I love NG and the opportunities it provides to both viewers and artists and I think that having more interviews like this in the NG Mag can be an entertaining as well as powerful thing. When attempting to cleanse NG of bitterness (like Foamy hate clubs) and childinsh reviews (the "dis sukz/BLAM everything" crowd) there's always the threat of cancelling accounts and what not. But in my experience it is always better to reward good deeds and lead by example rather than to punish the insubordiante. And I think that interviews like this one, assuming people really take the time to read them, can help do a lot to move the NG crowd into a more mature mindset of reviewing honestly, supporting eachother, and appreciating the work of everyone involved in the community. Unfortunately, the ones most likely to read and take to heart these interviews are most likely the people who visit NG just to see sticks gettting killed and dick and fart jokes (which definatley have their place :) ). Basically, love the new NG Mag and I'm looking forward to more interviews and the future of NG, both the community as well as updates to the look and functionality of the site.

I enjoyed this interview very much, because Illwill in generaly very quiet and pretty much all of what we've heard from him was from reviews and replies to reviews of his movies.
Can't wait for more NG Mag, its gotten a great start so far.
