2. looks like the colors go outside the lines on purpose

So... what is the point of this thread?
Do you wanna post some of your art on here? Thats cool, use the include picture button and we can check it out ;)
If you want tips on it, I suggest you google it or something, but I personally have no idea what you are talking about :(
...any tips
What? I thought you were looking for animations that exhibited these characteristics?
Then you post a list! What is the question? Are you, in fact, looking for animations LIKE what you described?
My brain is full of.. confusion.

Holy dang I think you're talking about 'stop-motion' animation. Not quite in the sense of "Coraline", but paper cut-out animation.
Like this? Little Black Riding Hood

kinda like that, yes but with the backgrounds and everything done that way. you used a stick character with no drop shadow so its not exactly what i'm looking for.
AND to answer your questions i'm looking for tips on how to accomplish this effect. thats the point of this thread, if you can include animations that fit the description that'd be cool too

Use masks, importing images with textures behind what you drew. Either use a filter to 'drop shadow' or duplicate the layer, lower opacity, and slightly off it's original 'paste-in-place' position. As for coloring outside the lines.. color behind it all sloppy-like. The rest is contingent upon how creative you are =)
