It keeps on expanding, meaning it gets larger everyday so we stop measuring it in miles and we started using time to measure it, that's where we get the term "Light Year" from because that distance is the amount of distance light can travel in a year.

It all depends on what school of thinking you belong to. Some believe that there is a physical border where our universe impacts adjacent ones ( think of soap bubbles each containing it's own universe) Others believe there is an infinite amount "non-space" (space that matter and light has simply not had enough time to expand into) for our universe to occupy. Still others believe that matter does not actualy take up any space and that an expansive universe is simply an illusion brought on by the warp of reality around a singularity point of super condensed matter due to gravity.
All of this is of couse ridiculous, we are obviously in the matrix.

It's infinitely big, because it's infinitely expanding. As it expands in all directions, it gets bigger and bigger, and bigger, and bigger....to infinity. So it's infinitely big because it won't stop expanding.
