Drone is Metal.
But like with Prog, Thrash and Doom you don't need to say Metal in order for people to know what you're talking about. Whereas Power, for example, sounds retarded with the Metal suffix.

Sludge is perhaps less Metal as its a mixture of Doom Metal and Hardcore Punk. Its like taking the misery of Doom and making it into misantrophy :). Sorta like slower, heavier, more misery and weed-laden Thrash.
And in some cases like Dystopia its apparently more Crust Punk than it is Metal, but I don't really care for that, it sounds Metal enough for me.

Drone is noise influenced minimalist Doom. It's too slow for riffs so its all about the ambience and soundscapes.

I know what Doom is, I really like bands like Agalloch, but I don't know bands who are straight down Doom Metal.

I don't consider Agalloch Doom. I have them under Folk Metal in my iTunes, but whatever.

If what I previously said doesn't apply to you, I would easily choose this one. Nile is one of my favorite Death metal bands (third after Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse), and Immolation is fucking awesome as well. Krisiun is pretty good too, I would see them again even though you've seen them twice already.

Better late than never...
Turkey day kicked ass, my first attempt at making a turkey dinner was a success.
Got stondeded afterwards and between that and pigging out I was in no condition to type.
Now the Accept story.
It was me, my brother and some friends.
We got there early and ended up at the stage for the show.
Fuckin Udo is one short , crazy fucker and a good showman.
Anyway towards the end of the show I decided I needed a souvenir.
I noticed Udo wore a camoflauge bandanna around his right ankle.
I was high and decided that the bandanna would make a killer souvenir.
The stage was pretty high so I was eye level with his shins.
I reached out and began untying the knot, he pulled back, moved up again and I continued.
Then it came loose and viola, i slipped it off.
Fuck yeah I ripped off Udo LOL.
My buddy stole the towel from around his neck which resulted in Udo nearly doing a header off the stage.
Being pumped up after the show we decided to follow them to the next gig.
We followed their bus for like 15 minutes and noticed they were stopping at a hotel for the night.
We popped into the main area in the hotel and waited til the band popped in.
They showed up within minutes so we met the band and got pictures with them.
I had Udo and Wolf sign a dollar bill for me.
Way cool night.
Sadly I spent the dollar and lost the bandanna years ago.
But I got the memories which is good enough for me.
Fuck yeah stoned again and learning scales and teaching myself how to read TAB.
Metal, the logical choice.
Getting some new tunes soon.
Life is good.
Yeah , I'm thankful this year.

Folk Metal.... They have a folk influence. And the EP 'The White' is folk. Very nice folk. But I would have to say that Agalloch is a combination of post-rock and black metal.

Er. Stoner ROCK is stuff like Kyuss and Fu Manchu. Bands I both fucking adore. And stoner doom is taking the blues influence from early Sabbath. Stoner metal is all about the blues.
