Kreator is thrash, so is Venom actually

Grendel and Ancient Rites are both killer bands, I especially like Grendel, Beowulf is an awesome album.

Oh well, I recently finally discovered Mütiilation. They get a lot of hype so I decided to check them out and yeah, they are pretty good - I got their "Hail Satanas We Are The Black Legions" EP - raw black metal with some nice, morbid melodies and haunting vocals. I expected less from the LLN, but I was pretty satisfied with it. Some decent blasphemy for the night.

Early Kreator (Endless Pain/Pleasure to Kill) does have a black metal and a more prominent early death metal influence.

ah cool, ive got Remains of a Ruined, Dead, Cursed Soul and i thought it was alright but what you would usually expect from the LLN :P to quote yourself i may look into that EP, it may just take me a while to getinto them like graveland, i first got The Celtic Winter and wasnt overly impressed but then when i got Immortal Pride i got into it alot more

It goes deeper than that. I think there should be an intelligence requirement for the hell. Like, stupidity should be a reason to kick someone out. I dunno how that would be implimented, nor do I know if it would be effective or not. One can dream, tho.

I got a mutiilation album a while back and I forgot what I did with it. It wasn't really my thing; I like my black metal more melodic and less, well, like noise. By no means does that mean I like Dimmu Borgir; that just means I like shit that's more like Emperor, Dawn, Sinful, Drudkh, Ljaa, Dissection (Storm of the Light's Bane), Kataxu, Old Setherial, or even Tartaros. Bands like Sauron, Mutiilation, Sarcofago (sp?), Darkthrone, Absu, or Havohej don't really appeal to me due to the noise-like quality of the music.

I know what you mean, I have to be in a certain mood to listen to Rawer BM however I LOVE ambient stuff Kataxu - Hunger of Elements is one of my favourite albums.. ever

Saying Led Zeppelin are Metal cause their an early influence is like saying Slipknot and other Nu Metal acts are Metal cause they get people into more Metal - or, an early influence on our music tastes, if you will.

And in both cases its wrong.
Zeppelin are a rock band. Just cause some people were like 'DAMN LED ZEPPELIN BE TASTY BUT LETS BE HEAVIER!!!' does not mean Zep are Metal themselves.
If so, the Beatles would surely be Metal as well.

If you don't think its a real song.... its probably not.

Limewire is easy to use.
Check the song length, check the bitrate and check the file size.
If it all adds up, then its probably a real song. If it lacks those details, be cautious, unless it can be cross referenced with files of the same size that have the details like length, bitrate and such.

Also check something like Wikipedia or MA to make sure that its the real song by checking the length of the song on there.

well they are parts of the first wave, but they definetly have a thrash sound, not black metal

Venom were never Black Metal. They were Poser Thrash to the 1st degree.
