So Annihilator's newest album finally arrived through my door today, and holy SHIT Alexi Laiho's solo in one of the songs is tasty as fuck.

Well i got alot of albums yesterday, Furze - UTD, Astrofaes - the eyes of the beast, Marduk - ROM 5:12, Leviathan - Tenth Sublevel of Suicide , Nokturnal Mortum - Goat Horns.

Furze is amazing really dark grim and quite experimental especially in the lyrics department.
Astrofaes is very nice not quite what i was expecting but i enjoyed the drumming
Marduk... COLD MOUTH PRAYER!! i love marduk as they were my first more classical black metal experience love it
Leviathan I prefer it more xasthur i have to say i thinks its probably the drumming that does it
Nokturnal Mortum, i get a feeling of burzum off it actually maybe more the vocals in some parts other then that very solid

oh and another thing those in the UK and some parts of Europe will know of the Metal Hammer magazine, now i use to read it (note use to) now i do not mainly because they put fucking my chemical romance on the cover and now their golden gods awards have come round and look at the voting form i can see about 2 or 3 that are actually metal in there. how can this happen to something that once had the right idea, i will never know :( Vote form

I started out with power metal, surprisingly. Sonata Arctica and Rhapsody were the first metal bands I really got into almost 3 years ago.

How about, most recent Metal band you've got into?

For me its Gojira, and possibly Annihilator (since I wasn't overly fond of them till I saw them live).

Those bands listed in my previous post with the exception of Marduk are my most recent and first was Iron Maiden

First band to get me into metal was Ozzy, which seems to be a rarity.

Most recent band i've gotten into? oh jeez... Persuader and Savage Circus probably. There's a bunch of bands I want to get into but never get the chance to get hold of or listen to their stuff.

Also I guess I got into Rush fairly late in the game considering my love for Dream Theater, but they can't really be counted as metal so I won't get into that.

black sabbath, my dad had a cd of black sabbath and it looked cool so i put it on... i liked it^^
and then i met AC/DC....

and AC/DC still is my favorite band and it will always be that way

and actually is ac/dc that made me listen to metal. because after some time i wanted something harder and then a friend of mine said iron maiden,...
and then my sister boyfriend came along and mentioned some other bands... actually he introduced me to black metal
