Cryptopsy is all speed. Once you get finished jizzing over the speed of the guitars and drums, it becomes boring and you realize Cryptopsy never had a good vocalist, and their songwriting is atonal and boring.

Demilich, on the other hand, have fucked up, off kilter, unpredictable, and interweaving riffs over drumming that's sometimes "against" the grain of the guitars, and vocals so low you'd think he was talking out of his intestine, yet they're still intelligible. They're nowhere near as fast as Cryptopsy in the drums department, yet the guitars are somewhat comparable. However, in terms of songwriting, Demilich's fucked up, melodic yet dissonant and somewhat random songwriting style blows Cryptopsy's amelodic, atonal wank-fests out of the water.

I find nothing addicting about clicking. I also find no melody or tone in their songwriting. I just hate Tech Death. There's no moments where I can go "FUCK, I just LOVE THAT MELODY! It'S SO VIIIIILE" while listening to cryptopsy.

Epic is a term I reserve for albums like Borknagar's Epic, Setherial's Nord, Dissection's Storm of the Light's Bane, Avantasia, Blind Guardian's ...And Then There Was Silence, and TSO's Beethoven's Last Night, as well as a few others I can't think of at the moment. NOT Cryptopsy.

The rest I can dismiss as just being opinion, but here, you're wrong. Not all death metal bands have monotonous vocals. It's not "part of death metal." Only shitty cliche' death metal bands. The good ones have vocals you can understand. Good death bands' vocalists enunciate. You always tend to think that every band in a genre is stereotypical, and that stereotypical is good.

Well, just like how not every black metal band has paper thin production with cheesy photos and buried bass, not every death band has atonal wank fests with monotonous gurgled vocals.
