Normally I get people screaming at me like "AAAH YOU LIKE SLIPKNOT AND MUDVAYNE?! NU METAL SUCKS BLAH BLAH BLAH" SHUT THE FUCK UP! (that wasn't to you that was what I say to those people) I listen to what I want to listen not to what everyone else wants me to listen to. If I wanted to listen to what everyone else was listening to I'd change my name to dizzle shizzle fizzle G-I-double Q or something and listen to rap. I don't care if it's nu metal, death metal or what I listen to it for what it sounds like. I mostly stick with the heavier stuff which is why mudvayne slipknot and killswitch are probably my favorite right now. (By Slipknot I mean their self titled album and iowa NOT their new one (you may have heard one or all three of the available songs from their new album) and by mudvayne I mean L.D.50)

Just thought I'd say that. I seem to get alot of people screaming at me about how nu metal sucks. I don't even know what the hell nu metal is just that most people call slipknot and mudvayne nu metal. I heard somewhere Slipknot wanted to be classified with Slayer because that's what they were like or something like that...

Has anyone here listened to the new songs by slipknot? I like them but they sound like a little heavier version of Stone Sour now...I hear they no longer have their custom drums (the pictures show the custom drummers with marching band snairs) and no pyro...If you want to hear one of their songs, roadrunnerrecords.com has pulse of the maggots to listen to. I downloaded pulse of the maggots, duality, and don't get close with kazaa so...yeah...I believe it is pulse of the maggots that actually has a little solo...unusual for Slipknot...

As for hating me...everyone hates me. I don't know why. I always thought I was a nice person. I never get in trouble I do what I'm told I rarely do anything wrong. But people hate me. Everyone hates me. oh well so long as they stay out of my way. I figure in a short time you'll all hate me too.

Thats what I like about the feeling of this club, sure everyone has their opinions here, but we all seem, like I want it to be, tolerant of those whose musical tastes disagree with us, I dont listen to much Nu-metal anymore, however that was the heavy music I first liked and I still like it and I believe no one has a right to have a go at you just for a different taste.
I think we really need to keep this tolerant attitude so that we can hear the true thoughts and opinions of members, which will be pretty rare as newgrounds goes.
Hope you guys agree with trying to keep it this way.

Tolerance is important in this club, but everyone can try to show other members new stuff they might like. Like I got convinced to way better stuff then KoRn :)

I don't mean to sound like everyone else, but if you got into good black metal bands, you'd most likely leave nu-metal behind. By the way, nu-metal are the new metal bands that paint their faces and sing about suicide and such. That's how I would classify. But seriously, look at those lists in this thread, and you'll discover some bands that have lots of rythym and skill. It's cool if you like Slipknot and Mudvayne, though. You should check out Deicide if you're into death metal.

-headbanger- is the best example of this. yesterday, he was all about korn, then i pointed him in the direction of other good bands, and now his one of his favorite bands is in flames, and crappy korn has fallen way down on the list.

Yeah, true. I mean, okay, KoRn. They have a pretty good singer, but the music is....a little bit...I don't know how to say it, boring. If I listen to hundred KoRn songs all the time, there ain' t that much of a musical difference in every song and I started to miss solos. I also think that listening to KoRn ALL THE TIME made it especially more boring...

Yeah, In Flames is pretty good. I think the best black metal band would be the founders of black metal themselves, Emperor. I mean they are fucking amazing and they are considered the first black metal band. Check them out if you don't know them. MY favorite songs by them are"The Tounge of Fire" , "With Strength I burn", and "Inno A Satana".

Yeah I downloaded all three of the available new slipknot songs that I know of and I think they are alright. I'm really not too happy with Shawn's new mask and I'm not too happy that they got rid of the custom drums and replaced them with what appear to be marching band style snairs. I'm also not too happy that I heard the got rid of all the pyro and just play now...all right before I see them for the first time :(

There are several bands that others have listed so far that I think rule that I never posted. I figured that'd happen because there are sooo many bands I like.

Yeah, They're not bad. Not as good as Emperor, though. I think their drummer was jailed for killing someone and the rest of them were jailed for burning churches. Read the book Lord of Chaos, it's all about them.
