Frootza is stll pretty unknown so I figured I'd do a little spreading-the-word.
sounds pretty neat. makes me think of fighting games like Street Fighter or something. You should check out Goatchrist and Metaljonus.

I wish I had cool stuff like that....
Do you have a picture of it?
I listen to music quite frequently and am a guitar player myself. My favorite metal genres are death, black, doom, thrash, power, and pretty much everything in between. I'm in as well.

Bal-Sagoth, Stormlord, Battleroar, Omen, Metal Church, Grim Reaper, Candlemass, Demolition Hammer, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Massacre, Obituary, Necrophagia, Adramelech, Crimson Midwinter, Dagorlad, Bolt Thrower, Emperor, Darkthrone, Black Funeral, Cancer, Death, Cannibal Corpse, Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Cryptopsy, Immolation, Iron Angel, Nuclear Assault, Scum, Summoning, etc.
Not sure if this is metal, but it surely is bloody good. This is a french one-man project and metal-archives says the genre is Experimental Black Metal, but it my opinion it surely is experimental and even avantgarde, but I'm not sure if it really is black metal. You can tell there are metal influences in this album particularly (I still didn't have the opportunity to hear his split with other band and his most recent EP though), but it feels more dark ambient oriented, with some post-rock, drone, jazz, doom and classical influences (as the video description claims, and it's the truth in my opinion). I also think it has a very strong industrial/electronic feeling in it, with that constant aggressive electronic-sounding snare always being hit in an industrial-esque style.
I also find it funny that all the songs on this album are called "sans titre x". And it reminds me a lot of modern Ulver.

This is definitely appropriate for the Metal Hell. Welcome in :) and feel free to join in on any discussion that is currently taking place!

Maybe I can take a pic. All three members signed a shirt I bought at a show.

I'm honored! I'm also new to newgrounds, so I'm still trying to find my way around. I published a metal song of mine yesterday, but it doesn't seem to appear in the audio section, not even in the un-scouted section.

I checked it out man, and although it's not really my style, I found it pretty sick and consistent, I left a review for you. Welcome!

Thanks, and thanks for your review! To answer your question, no I'm not still working on it. Every now and then, I'll record a song and use it in one of my videos on YouTube. I can't play lead guitar. I can riff all day, but I can't shred for the life of me. It would be cool to, but I just find it hard to get into soloing and/or make any progress with it. I have a whole catalogue of original riffs in my head that keeps growing, though.
I just found out that Baroness are releasing a new EP later this year. Its a 4 song live set recorded last year. All 4 tracks are off of Yellow & Green. And I pre-ordered it off of Relapse Record's website (the one I pre-ordered is limited to 500 copies).

Same here. Though I've been told (by more than one person) my soloing style sounds "weird". Don't really see how but whatever.
My band Siberian Fire just released two new songs, go check it out if you want to!

Not really "metal" but a band thats slowly becoming one of my favorite bands The Bad Light have released a new EP.
They're like...kinda Sludgy Stoner Blues.
You can hear their new stuff (plus their previous release Marrow Of Sound) here> http://thebadlight.bandcamp.com
newgrounds said the URL wasn't "valid" for some reason.

Old Time/The Great Dying
Politics
Not bad. I liked Politics more than Old Time/The Great Dying though. Not sure why....

Me too, maybe because Old Time/The Great Dying was mostly composed by my drummer and Politics by me, so it may accomplish my musical thirst more efficiently, and I also managed to use a whole tone scale on the solo, which is something I never had the opportunity to do and I think it came out pretty well. Thanks for checking it out!

So I found out recently that Summoning are releasing a new album in June (different dates depending on region), entitled Old Mornings Dawn. I am quite excited.
Oh, and as someone already said, Baroness is releasing a live EP as well. Fun releases all around.

Speaking of the Baroness EP I checked on Relapse and they took the copy that I pre-ordered out of my....thing? (I can't think of the name at the moment for some reason) and now it's completely sold out -_-
So I ended up ordering it (again -_-) but instead of the clear with gold and black splatter I'm getting the translucent gold one.

Eh, I don't really care unless they're going back to the sound they had on Lugburz, or at least just ease up on the keys.

I just love people like you who argue with their head up their ass. Do you even know what music I listen to? You obviously don't, otherwise you wouldn't have posted such a retarded and ignorant comment as you did. A little 5 seconds search on me (just clicking on my fuckin last.fm profile link down in my signature) would have informed you that some of my favorite bands are Blotted Science, Cynic, Symphony X and Agalloch.
I know this might be hard to understand for some angry kid like you, but mocking someone without having any kind of clue if what you're saying is true in anyway, doesn't give you much credibility.

And what bands out of the ones listed recently would you say are "hipster"?

I actually knew that was going to be the next part of your cheap and predictacle argument. You throw a bold statement at me, accusing me of listening to 4/4 cookie cutter metal, whatever the fuck that means to you, and when I destroyed you while also exposing your hipocrisy and lack of solid argument, you come back saying "These bands are better anyway".
I've read plenty of this thread, it's a bunch of hipster trash pretending to be metal heads.
Metal Hell has no credibility in Metal.
You come out to us with bands who hardly make it into metal, packing up shitty groove riffs stolen from the worst mallcore bands of the 2000's and pretending to be technical by just jam-packing their tracks with wankery over some of the most unintteresting chugging riffs. AAL isn't as bad as Mechugchug, but please! What is it with fake metalheads and AAL?!? Seriously! This fucking band depends on technical metal and post-rock bands like Blotted Science and Mogway so freakin much to just even exist, and it's not like they are transcending their influences, they are just spitting out stuff that others did before them.
Saying AAL beats Blotted Science, shows that even if you try to act tough and flash your so-progressive bands who, in your head at least, destroys 4/4 metal (cause doom metal is a shitty genre as a whole, anyway)... you can't demonstrate anykind of musical knowledge or understanding. Blotted Science's song-writing process is absolutely amazing! It's complex, inspired and shows not only technical skills, but an interest and a passion for creative art.
Accusing people of not knowing what metal shows how much of a poser you are. We clearly demonstrate knowledge and interest for doom, power, thrash, drone, heavy, death, black, sludge, stoner and basicaly all subgenres of metal genres all the time. We like bands with only a few years of existance and old-school bands aswell. It's especially funny when you say Mechugchug and AAL are better. Because you further prove your lack of knowledge of the metal scene. What's next? Born Of Osiris? Veil Of Maya? Suicide Silence?
I never really dug Meshuggah that much, but I love Animals as Leaders.

He doesn't.

Metal Hell has no credibility in Metal.
That's just a load of horseshit.
At 5/30/13 05:57 PM, infamoss wrote: You did no such thing. You just threw some bands at me you like with time signatures other than 4/4. Those bands don't even sound that good.
That's not the point. Go back and read.
I can't even take this statement remotely serious. They are definitely not pretending to be technical, they ARE technical, probably the most technical bands right now. Everybody has influences, but to say they don't sound original is retarded.
You most likely never listened to the bands I refered to. And of course, you won't do it now. Cause what's the point of knowing the stuff you are debatting...
Meshuggah is very creative, to say they are just chugging away is a down right lie. Their rhythms are very abstract and polyrhythmic. Their drummer's patterns are extremely original and complex, which only few can attempt to imitate.
Probably unlike the drummers from our hipster bands, I assume?
This is exactly what I'm talking about right here. The subgenres you listed are all 4/4 outdated shit metal, which seems to be the core base of Metal Hell.
Death metal is 4/4 based? Damn you really have piss-poor knowledge of metal. And you seem to believe that playing 4/4 is outdated. Are you seriously suggesting that anything that isn't prog is uncreative? Thats just... wow...
You're just fooling yourselves really.
And you are stuck up in your belief that technical means quality.
I love Meshuggah, but then again I'm a drummer and I could enjoy listening to purely rhythmic guitar riffs all day. I've always considered Meshuggah to be above the djent genre (they did what they do before djent was a thing), which as a genre does kind of suck because you might as well just listen to Meshuggah instead of any djent band. Anyway, if technicality and the (in my opinion) great robotic atmosphere don't interest you, there's no reason to listen to Meshuggah, and if you don't see a reason to listen to them, it's reasonable to question why they're considered to be a great band, so they're kind of a love/hate-ish band.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with 4/4 in any way, though. I would easily call it the overall BEST time signature, if such a thing could exist. It's also the easiest, which makes it the most used, which does make it nice to hear other time signatures represented.
Thomas Haake is a beast btw
So I just found Indriocthere today ._.
In case anyone here hasn't heard of em they're a solo project by Colin Marston from Behold The Arctopus.
What the H is going on with Slayer right now? Apparently Paul Bostaph has replaced Dave Lombardo again? But they never even officially announced that Dave had left? I'm so confised.
