Same here. Fantastic album that gets overlooked for no good reason.

I prefer Valley of the Damned or even their latest album The Power Within. They do improve and away from Inhuman Rampage and Ultra Beatdown's staleness so I appreciate it.

My two favorites are Valley of the Damned and Sonic Firestorm. I haven't heard The Power Within yet, so I can't judge. I have to admit though, I love me some Inside the Winter Storm off Ultra Beatdown.

I say Valley of the Damned is pretty great two, but listening to Soldiers Of The Wasteland on Sonic Firestorm, I can't help myself but sing the whole thing with everything that is left of my love for chessy metal.

Burning fires burning lives on the long distant roads
Trough the lost mountains endless so far away from home
Warrior soldiers forever we fought long ago
We're all lost in the darkness so far away from home

Damn that feels good. I still have to check out The Power Within. The way you reviewed it makes me want to experience it myself :)

Hey guys, I'd like us to all make a list of a few bands we consider to be underground and very good. And by underground, I do not mean music that isn't pop. I mean some stuff that is rather unknown even to other metalheads.

I have two bands that I can think of right now that makes very good and rather underground music.

The first is Leeches Of Lore. This is a band from New Mexico that plays a unique and inspired brand of heavy metal, mixed with thrash elements and some spaghetti western music style. I can't talk for all their albums since I'm still discovering their music. But the album Frenzy, Ecstasy is a gem. It's a masterpiece like none you've ever heard before. It's very hard to find online (imo), but I can share it with anybody who would like to hear it.

The second is Balrog, a black metal band from France. They play a very agressive, raw and brutal form of black metal. Their music is evil, obscure and will sadisticaly rape your ears with raw and somewhat thrashy black metal. The album Ars Talionis - The Art of Retaliation is the only one I know so far. It's a great record, and I can also share this one with you guys if you can't find it on your own.

Thanks in advance for sharing bands with us :)

Eh, I can dig Reasons to Live but that's about it from Ultra Beatdown. As for Inhuman Rampage, despite how overplayed it became, I still have a soft spot for Through the Fire and Flames.

I've known about Balrog for years. Great band with artillery-like drums. Bestial Satanic Terror is a better album, though, IMO.

This is not normally something I ask for but I'm wanting to hear something differnt.
If you don't mind Id like a list of power metal or whatever bands.
Something that like totally out of this world epic fantasy, dragons flying war waging metal.
That sounds interesting now. Something that when you listen you fly off in another world kind of stuff.
So anyone who is willing to give me a list will be much appericated.

There's a really good series of videos on Youtube for finding new Power Metal.

I never figured you as much of a Power Metal fan. Why the sudden interest?

Not sure if you can get any better than Slough Feg's Traveller if you want "fly off in another world". More on sci-fi than fantasy but still really good.

The album Return To Heaven Denied by Labyrinth is one of my all time favorites. I'm not huge on Power Metal usually, but this band manages to be progressive enough, creative enough and memorable enough for me to enjoy their stuff.

Labyrinth - Heaven Denied

Another good (and epic) album I would recommend is Crimson Thunder by Hammerfall. It might just be what you are looking for. When it comes to epic power metal, Hammerfall are a good match for DragonForce, Rhapsody of Fire, and Helloween.

Hammerfall - Hero's Return
