My metal songs/works in progress

Alright guys, I know it's been a fucking long time, but I've been recording some tracks of late (some post metal, some melodic death metal) and I just want you guys to check out the tracks. Yeah the drumming is really fucking bad on all of them, but I can't afford EZdrummer right now, so I'm programming everything in Garageband/Fruity Loops.

Here I am, bored with everything.

Cool bro, I'm liking it. The melodeath isn't even band, and it really reminds me of Marko's recordings. The Post-Metal is the best though, it's gnarly.

Well, since you like Metallica, you could listen to the other three of what they call the "Big Four" of thrash metal: Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer. For Anthrax I recommend the album Among the Living, Rust in Peace for Megadeth, and Reign in Blood for your first Slayer album. Now Iron Maiden I'm not sure of. Probably Judas Priest is a good band sort of like them.

Does the metal discussed in this club have to be like super heavy stuff? or can it be more along the lines of this?

Ah, Bill! While you're here, I'd like to mention that I got the new Motörhead album last week. The music is what you expect from them so it should please you easily. Some of the highlights are Get Back in Line and Brotherhood of Man. However, the DVD interview for the album was a disappointment. Only 20 seconds worth of footage of the Manchester show were even used.

Like I give a fuck about what they did before. I watched the fucking video, listenned to the song, and figured out it was not really metal. Anyway, there might be elements of metal in there, but that sound, is mostly rock influenced. And I still don't give a fuck about the fact that you like shit. Thanks you.

So, after putting it off for a while, I finally listened to The Sword's newest album, Warp Riders, and wow, I'm impressed. I think they stripped down their songs a bit. Sure, they have some songs that are no doubt classic stoner metal and have the sound of songs on other albums, but they messed with tons of cool guitar tones, and different types of riffs. The vocals even changed a bit on a tune or two. I need to listen to it once or twice more, but right now I like this album better than Gods of the Earth (still a good album though).

Which do you prefer: Killswitch Engage or Anthrax? I like the two, but I think Anthrax is better.

Why compare? One is a melodic metalcore band from the late 90's and Anthrax is a Thrash Metal band from the 80's.

Ponos, one of these days we gotta hook up and trip.

I'm walking to America right now.

Been a while.
Dropped acid for 3 months straight back in 86.
ONe LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng trip that was.
Ended when my fiance at the time stabbed me in the back with a steaknife.
Was DOA and came back.
Death, the ultimate trip.

WHOAH. And I thought three days was intense. I can't believe you got stabbed in the back by your fiance'! What was she on?

So the big 4 are Metallica, Megadeath , Anthrax and Slayer.

Saw Metallica in 83 or 84.

YOU SLUT that would of been so cool, the best time to see them. Fuck.

Megadeath and Anthrax in 86.

That would of been gnarly too, Megadeth were heroin junkies then. And Anthrax had Joey Belladonna, when I saw them last year they had John Bush, and now they have Joey back again. It's fucked, I wanna see them with Joey.

Never saw Slayer.
Probably never will, not a big fan.
THey just never did anything for me I guess.

They were fun live because of the classic songs.

CAn't wait til the end of the month when I can go shopping for new music.
planning on spending a hundred or two on cds, should get me a few discs.

Also before I forget what did everyone think of the newest High on Fire and GWAR discs.
Personally I liked them both a lot.

Haven't got the GWAR disc but of course Snakes for the Divine is a godly album.

Also before I forget, Cathedral's THe Garden of UNearthly delights, is pretty damn good.
Have not heard their latest yest.

I have the Garden, bought it on CD. The CD is scratch and sniff apple :) Found the album to be ok but a bit weak, I'll have to give it a re-listen though.

Shitty lyrics though haha:

CORPSE CYCLE, IS LIFE'S CIRCLE
LIFE'S CIRCLE, IS CORPSE CYCLE!

Keep it Heavy
Peace

I shall keep it heavy,
peace be with you aswell.

LOL

I heard some of Anthrax's albums (I'm looking at you Stomp 442) are pretty shit, so maybe Killswitch are sometimes better than Anthrax.

But the classic Anthrax songs rape Killswitch in their arse, despite Killswitch being one of the best metalcore bands.

Right now I'm listening to some dark jazz that AllMightyBruce recommended me, "Bohren & Der Club of Gore". Good shit.

Anthrax by far. I don't understand the comparison between them and Killswitch Engage but hell, I'll easily take Anthrax any day of the week. KSE on the other hand, they were the ones who made that god awful Holy Diver cover.

Anthrax was cool in their earlier days with Belladonna. I don't like Killswitch Engage, but I don't think they're so bad for their type of music. There's actually one song I heard that I think is good enough to listen to, which my friend has. I don't remember the name, but it was in Guitar Hero 3. I wouldn't listen to it by choice, but I don't mind it when my friend puts it on.
