i don't like brutal death 'cause i think it's all really boring. it's bland. honestly i don't think it's all that heavy. i realize how pretentious that sounds but it's true. also the bands try way too hard to be FUCKIN BR00TAL BRO STR8 BR00TZ and that just makes them lame.

I think it's pretty hard to differentiate Brutal Death Metal from the regular stuff. I mean, what's different? Pitchshifted vocals and shittier musicianship is usually it. You occasionally get stuff like Disgorge, who I really like, but it's a diamond in a septic tank.

Oh, and you guys should check out Meanstreak. Cool little all-girl Thrash band from the 80s. Three of their members went on to marry guys from Dream Theater, which is pretty cool.

What other Morbid Angel album is actually good and NOT generic as fuck?

AoM had a sound that made MA sound unique, after that it was just endless double bass and power chords. And of course some might argue " well that's what all death metal is " but there's a difference between just chugging the same chords and growling and making it sound good.

Well in my mind there are two variations for each. There's " br00tal " death metal that just sucks and then there's brutal death metal which is actually good. Then there's those technical wanky half metal half core bands that I absolutely can't stand and technical bands that have technical riffs but still keep their beat and such.

I like how you try to be cool but just plain fails at it. We had useless fights like these in the past. If you are just going to bitch about a whole genre for no good reason and without any kind of argument to do so... Why do you feel that you should make a post about it?

There is at least two or three Tech Death Metal fans in the Metal Hell, so you obviously knew that a comment like "technical death metal sucks too" was not going to put a smile on anybody's face here. While I'm not offended by your post, I still think it's useless to shit on a whole genre for no good reason or without giving these good reasons. Some may say that you are free to speak you opinions. Yes you are, but we all already know you don't like Tech Death, so why do you have to come back with this shit anytime we chat about Tech Death?

Also, Brutal Death Metal is not about breakdowns. There is a genre named Brutal Deathcore that fits your stupid definition way better than Death Metal. Now listen to this and tell me that it's "Wert wert wert breakdown wert wert wet" again, so I can just laugh my ass out.

Do you think that these bands describe themselves as Brutal Death Metal? While I'm not really sure about it. I think it's more of a genre classification created by fans to describe the sound of Modern Death Metal bands who really just did sound more brutal then older death metal bands.

Anyway, do you know about Kronos and Krisiun? I'm not a big fan of the genre myself, but I think that these two bands are pretty good at what they do.

I disagree. iwrestledabearonce have some good talent, if they'd just give up the shitty scenecore writing style they could be a good band.
