But seriously... I think that Symphonic Black Metal is the Melodeath of black metal...
Is that so? If I looked further into black metal, I wouldn't mind the symphonic elements.
I dunno if I already explained this before... but anyway...
I think that Death Metal and Melodic Death Metal are different genres of metal and therefore melodeath shouldn't be named that way and shouldn't be classified as a sub-genre of Death Metal. I think that even if they share similarities they are two different genres of metal. I think it's the exact same thing for Black Metal and Symphonic Black Metal.
So yeah... most of the time they are not considered as "real metal bands" by the underground metal fans.
When I discuss musical tastes with people and that they only list Symphonic Black and Melodic Death bands... I just can't take them seriously when they talk about "THE metal". Basically I just see them as noobish metalheads. Call me an elitist if you want :P but that is just my opinion. So maybe SBM and MDM are dissed metal genres because they are the most commercial metal genres out there and that people who listen to them are sometimes seen by other metalheads as "pop metal fans"
Call me an elitist... but I hate to ear MDM kids talking about shit they don't know. Cause most of the time they assume that their tastes are "so fucking underground and that they are the only people who know these bands". So from this point they start trying to speak in the name of metal and try to teach their friends and family members what metal truly is by making them listen to their Cradle Of Filth and In Flames cd collection.
it's dissed and hated because it's more commercial and a lot of musicians of this scene are considered to be posers...
That's typical hate in the metal community for a lot of bands.
Right. But if you are looking for posers... the SBM scene is where you'll find the largest amount of them. And that is as true for the fans as for the actual musicians of the band.
"DAAAAH !! Power chord."
