Stop already with your over-relativism. Maybe it is a generalization, but generalizations are needed to find a constant. Otherwise how could you classify bands? Or easier than this... how could you name things if you would never make generalizations.

Other than this, elitist may be a "subjective term". But it meens what it meens...
An elitist is someone who see some particular genres or bands as being "simply better"

And seing how Ponos always "decide" if a band is good or not, without even considering arguments on why these bands could be good by fitting someone's particular tastes in music, I would say he's pretty much an elitist.

Just think about words like "true" and "kvlt"

Paul Gilbert. He's sort of metal guitar shredding but not extreme metal hell metal, and he does rock and funk too, and he was in a few awesome bands and he's a good singer and amazing at improv playing.
