But good luck trying to get an out of print album.

I'd recommend Human, Symbolic, and Individual Thought Patterns instead. I have all of their albums and I listen to those far more than their others.

Okay, I checked out Death. Guess what? I loved them. But for some strange reason, I have had this compulsion to listen to all my Blue Oyster Cult CDs. Does anyone else like them, or get these strange urges? And tell me what albums of theirs do you think is the best. For me its a tossup between Spectres and Fire of Unknown Origin.

P.S. Before people start complaining about BOC's lack of being metal, they were one of the founding fathers, like Sabbath and Deep Purple.

This may come as a surprise to all of you but BOC was considered Metal in the 70's and early 80's.
THey did tour with Black Sabbath during the Black and Blue tour.
Granted they are more hard rock but still, like you said they are one of the founding fathers.
I like them , not a fave, but good nonetheless.

I don't know why but I've never bothered to check out Blue Oyster Cult.

The lack of Blind Guardian, Death, Dream Theater, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Opeth and Symphony X still disappoints me but it's a great list nonetheless despite the few bad artists. Can't win them all, I guess.

If only I had a PS3 right now.

I played the Brutal Legend demo, i like the soundtrack and the humor, but i'm still not going to buy it because i don't really like the combat system, and it seems like the type of game that i'd be done with in a pretty short amount of time. Its not like im able to buy every game i want, so i have to buy games that last.
Now the Bayonetta demo on the other hand, greatness.

The demo doesn't show the RTS elements though. You should at least rent it.

No places that rent games in here. I don't like RTS anyway, only turn based strategy.

RB are up there in my opinion, I'd say second only to Warning in the Trad Doom stakes.
So listen to Watching from a Distance :P.

I was comparing BOC to the modern consideration of metal. Now, I would barely would call them hard rock. I love them, considering they were one of my first bands ever, and they started me on the long, long road to liking metal. Mentioning the Black and Blue tour, my dad saw them live then. He's such a lucky bastard.

RTS, you say? might be interesting. I'm not really into that, though. I played a little bit of Diablo and Blood and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic and other stuff on my friend's computer back in the day, but I never got any for myself. though I do still have a copy of Icewind Dale somewhere, unless I gave it to a friend.

You should at least rent it.

I miss renting games.

hei guys,

I've been listening to mostly Power Metal for about 3 or 4 years now and I'm trying to get into Black Metal/Viking Metal/Celtic Metal. What are some bands I should start listening to? I already listen to Ensiferum, Elvenking, Korpiklaani, and Turisas, but I'm clueless as to where I should go with Black Metal.

Thanks in advance, guyz. :3

Black Metal? :O

- Agalloch (They are much more of a Atmospheric Doom Metal band, but they did write some Black Metal stuff. Check out their EP named : From Which of this Oak (Or anything by them... cause they are fucking awesome after all.))
- Balrog (cause they are a raw black metal band from France :P)
- Dark Forest (from Canada, make sure you pick the right one)
- Drudkh (More like Atmospheric Black)
- Forefather
- Gorgoroth (a must :P)
- Mayhem (for the lolz)
- Primordial (Folk/Black)
- Ulver (albums you should get: Bergatatt and Nattens Madrigal)
- Wolves In The Throne Room (Atmospheric Black)
- Xasthur (Depressive Black Metal)

These are my personnal favorites... but these bands do not represent the whole black metal scene. There is not a lot of "straight down" black metal on my list, so you should also take the other guys advices.

Bathory (early albums)

They basically got me started, should do the same for you.

I still find it funny how Brutal Legend is considered to be a 'console game' yet RTS is more for computers.

Hey guys, I did something pretty awesome.

You guys listen to Orange Goblin?

Know the song Scorpionica?

Heavy stoner rock/metal stuff, very nice. Orange Goblin are like the Sabbath of today IMO.

Anyway, I have this new recording equipment and I did this acoustic blues cover of that song.

Check it.
