I have the same problem too. I have a few shirts i got when buying CD's and all, and a Stratovarius shirt (they're never coming to Australia, i can tell). I prefer buying shirts from the show's I've been to with the tour dates on the back, as an added incentive to the souvenir idea as Oppugnant said ^_^

I don't know about other places, but here in Finland, the shit they sell at concerts is overpriced as hell. Hoodies are usually 60-80 euros, shirts are 30-40. I would understand if they were shirts exclusive to the concert, but often they are the same stuff the band sells online on their website.

Same here. When I saw Opeth, their shirts were like $40. I don't know how that compares to euros, but I think it's pretty close. Anyway, it's been that way for every concert I've been to.

on the subject of shirts, i was planning on getting a shirt at Judas, so i brought an extra $25, but the shirts were fucking $35. they weren't even that cool.

on the subject of shirts, what's your opinion on "that guy," the guy in the crowd who wears the band's shirt? is he lame? a tr00 fan?

It must suck being American, everything looks so expensive in your currency.
Like $40 seems like loads compared to £20 (although since the economy has balls up its more like £30).

Is this in a crowd during a gig? Cause theres a good chance at least one of them will be tr00 :P.

If you mean just like, in the street (perhaps at a protest march?) then I think it depends on the band and the availability of the merch.
Iron Maiden for example is always a toughie.
Electric Wizard on the otherhand is different.

And theres always the fags who buy shirts at gigs just cause "that last band sounded pretty cool, y'know, sorta like Metallica WITH BALLS!"

Theres always going to be a lot of people at concerts who wear the shirt of the band that they are seeing. I don't really undestand what is the problem with it.
I never bring the band shirt to the show, but however if i do buy a shirt from the concert i will wear it immediately.

I can get real fucking snobby at certain gigs. Like when I saw Dream Theater back in June or whenever it was, there were loads of people in fresh, new tour shirts who only sang along to stuff from Systematic Chaos.

When I saw Dream Theater, everyone was wearing a Dream Theater shirt. It was a bit funny.

I was wearing a Napalm Death Scum shirt.

Pretty sure I was the youngest one there, at 15.

Now I'm 16 and seeing Megadeth and Slayer in two weeks. Second ever 'big' metal show.

The ones here can be a bit lame. You go to see a death metal band and then all these emo fucks with synths are playing too.

And you always get slam dancing when you want a pit. It's lame.

Megadave and Slayer T-shirts aren't worth it, they already have enough money.

Slayer shirts are worth every penny butt munch!!!!

Currently listening to Elexorien's self titled.
Not bad.
Nothing groundbreaking or spectacular.
But it's ok.
Worth checking out in my opinion.

Or at least they're on the more ridiciulous side of harsh.

Don't forget that Mille isn't the only vocalist.

Ventor sings on some of their songs.

I know a lot of you guys (or maybe all of you guys) won't understand shit about this, but there is that Folk Rock band in Quebec named Les Cowboys Fringants and at the beginning of their career they recorded this track about old-school Heavy Metal.

Heavy Metal

It's in french, but here are the lyrics so you can spot some bands names :P

Heavy metal
by Les Cowboys Fringants
Album: Break syndical

{Refrain}
Mais esti que t'étais belle
Avec tes Adidas Gazelle
Tes cheveux longs avec des tresses
Qui pendaient jusqu'aux fesses
On s'est aimé l'temps d'un été
En écoutant du Foreigner
Dans mon appart d'la rue Broadway
J'te jure que tu m'as brisé l'coeur !

On haïssait Depeche Mode

Moi j'me promenais à ses côtés

{Au refrain}

Mais un soir au ciné-parc
J'pense qu'c'était pendant E.T.
Quand a m'a dit qu'c'était fini

Elle était enceinte d'un moron
Un gars avec une coupe champignon
Qui jouait d'la guitare-piano
Dans un groupe de techno

Le lendemain j'ai viré une brosse
D'ins bleachers au Stade Olympique
Pendant le Super Motocross
Avec mes chums de "bécyque"

Quand chu r'venu à maison
Je l' savais ben qu'c'était over
Surtout qu'j'ai r'trouvé dans l'salon
Son long jeu d'Foreigner

{Au refrain}

Cyndi tu m'as fait maaal
Heavy metal !!!

I'm dying for Vader's new album. I can't find any of the songs anywhere to download, and I'm getting really pissed off. Gah. I guess I'm going to have to just get the album.

So far my favorite song is Rise of the Dead. Then again, I only listened to 3 so far.

And the fact it is veeeeeeeeeeeeery rare to fidn thrash metal with lyrics about dragons.

Thrash leads away from the dragons part with a "no." What's more confusing is that it claims power metal does not have songs about dragons, which is woefully inaccurate.

No it doesn't. It says that power metal has dragon lyrics without violins, which sets them apart from folk metal.

Or it should mention both. Another thing that could be disagreed with is saying hair metal is good. Most metal fans i know hate hair metal.
