So I listened to Behemoth's Demigod a couple times.
First time I played it in the background as I dinked around.
Some musical parts caught my attention and kept it.
Second time I planted myself in front of my stereo and paid full attention.
The verdict?
I fucking like this stuff.
Now in regards to the lyrical content...not too shabby.
Now these type of lyrics I can relate to to an extent because of my personal beliefs.
I find these type of lyrics more interesting than the Let's kill for Satan while sucking his cock bullshit.
After studying the works of Crowley as well as Lovecraft and being familiar with The Nephilim I found the lyrics rather refreshing if not my usual cup of tea.
As mentioned the Nazi mentality prevalent in some BM can just crawl off and die.
I have a major problem with Nazis, my grandparents were in a concentration camp and they as well as my Mother and deceased uncle were refugees after WWII.
I mean it's no secret that Adolf was no stranger to the dark arts and I always felt that WWII was a holy war with unholy ramifications.
And the USA's "GOD" won by our using the power of a god with the A bomb.
Now it does not take much to see the hypocrisy of so-called religious zealots so yeah, I can see the "attraction" of the darker lyrical content I see in a ton of BM,
Sorry if it seems like I am rambling but I am going on 24 hours with no sleep.
Anyway as I stated I enjoyed Behemoth's Demigod and can see myself liking bands like them.
I found the music, lyrics and even the vocals mixed well.
In fact I feel inspired to work on an acoustic piece regarding The Nephilim, with clean vocals.
All this from a 2 dollar investment, not bad.
So I offer thanks for recommending Behemoth.
And now for something completely different.
Any of you out there familiar with the works of Cirith Ungol?
The reason I ask is I became a fan back in the early 80's and they are pretty good Doom.
Also they were the first band to ever write me back a couple times as well as sending me some pics, stickers and original artwork.
They also made me an honorary King of the Dead.
Nice guys.

Have not watched House in ages, loved that show, no longer have Television, just music, dvds and gaming systems.
Oh and before I forget I may have invented Acoustic Sludge the other night when I was stoned.
Downtuned my Gibson and got this really cool Sludgey Doom sound that I never really heard with an acoustic.
Been seriously thinking of uploading a song or 2 next year after I get them perfected, Just me and my Gibson.
Sort of like Damnation unplugged.
And fuck, this just may be my longest post yet.
So yeah, my musical tastes still grow after all this time.
And speaking of the Nephilim, I know they are not Metal but any fans of The Fields of the Nephilim here?
They were one of the first and best of the 80's Goth sounding bands who also are heavily influenced by the works of Lovecraft as well as the Nephilim mythos.

The 'gay' point of that review is that 'gay' should denote a standard higher than usual. Using the idea that gay people are more stylish, healthier, better with women, etc. And that the album isn't gay because its suited for fans of Cradle Filth and Marilyn Manson.

If you want Doom thats ideal for killing yourself to I cannot recommend Warning's Watching from a Distance enough.
It's miserable and Doomy as fuck. And it's my favourite album in all of Metal (except maybe Rust in Peace).

I highly recommend Dystopia too though they're not so much Doom as Sludge. But they're wonderfully aggressive :).

Extreme Agression sounded pretty harsh to me. I thought the vocals were awesome. I hardly know anything about Kreator after Coma of Souls.

Basically, after Coma Of Souls they released two suck-ass albums(Renewal and Cause For Conflict) then one really good album, that was HIGHLY underrated(Outcast) and then they released an album which wasn't thrash at all and was mainly experimental industrial metal(Endorama) which made everyone accuse Kreator of selling out(And two suckish albums, and one underrated album before hand didn't help the cause of)

2001 they release Violent Revolution(album) which redeemed them from "Selling out", although it was pretty boring in my opinion.

2006 they released Enemy Of God and earlier this year they released Hordes Of Chaos, both these albums are great. (Although Hordes was waaaaaaaay to short)

Also, they've recorded three or four live DVDs in this past decade so it's pretty easy to find footage of them live on youtube.

Speaking of Kreator, this was there set list when I saw them:

They played 7 out of the 10 songs off of hordes(They didn't play corpses of liberty, radical resistance and escalation - They played everything else though)

I don't like buying shirts from bands that I haven't seen live. Buying them at the venue is the tr00 way.

Bands that are dead/disbanded would be an exception, I really want a Death, Warning and Dystopia shirt :(.

I'm always poor and can never afford to get shirts all the time though, I've failed to get a shirt from all the festivals I've been to, Cynic and Municipal Waste :(.

I can only go to a few concerts every year, so if i only bought shirts at venues i wouldn't have enough shirts.

I don't know about other places, but here in Finland, the shit they sell at concerts is overpriced as hell. Hoodies are usually 60-80 euros, shirts are 30-40. I would understand if they were shirts exclusive to the concert, but often they are the same stuff the band sells online on their website.
