If you guys like Classic Heavy Metal music, I recommend Primal Fear's new album 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows Your Dead)...

Eh, you might like this Power Metal band... Up to your tastes...

I'm starting to see a pattern here. I forget who posted it (for all I know, you could've - that's pretty likely), but someone showed us that video of Atheist's (?) bassist doing a solo, and it sucked shit. These guys need to figure out how to solo.

I don't think he was used to 5 strings. The image below was taken during the same year and he's using a four string bass.

Well, that's his fault for not practicing enough. I don't think the additional string is that much of an impediment anyways, but what do I know? I play woodwinds.

Now that's a long list of bassists. Sadly, there are some who I'm unfamiliar with, but seeing Steve Harris, John Myung and such give me a smile. Also, if I were to add one bassist to the list, that'd be Markus Grosskopf of Helloween.

Primal Fear is probably another metal band I should look into sometime. I remember hearing one track from their latest album, but didn't really like it. I'm hoping their previous stuff is a lot better.

Damn, why is it that I started listening to Helloween literally about one minute before reading that?

Devil's Ground, Seven Seals... All good albums.

You'll probably have a better time listening to their old stuff because now they're kinda experimenting a new sound. I like it alot in my opinion.

I Am No One

I'm your forsaken, the fallen from grace
Horror of evil, created mistake
Ruthless and wicked, I feast with the damned
I am the cyst on your lord's holy lamb

Fuck your religion with blood on its hands
Forgive the savior, forget about man
Profits for heaven build kingdoms of greed
Whoring redempter, embezzle the weak

I am no one, without me he's unknown
Darkness gives power to light up his throne
Descend on earth in angelic display
The time has come to undo his restrains

I'm the temptation that swallowed his eve
god's inhibition leave nothing to see
Hatred and anger conceived from the dust
I am the shame and the filth of their lust

Forfeit the savior for cleansing of sins
Relive the site of his crucifixion
Tragedy follows the wealth of your faith
Holy disorder has fell into place

Banished from heaven, unsatisfied soul
Out of the way of Jehovah's control
Let upon earth to envoke its decay
The time has come for your god to take blame

3 good bassists: Tony "Geezer" Butler, John Entwhistle, and of course, Lemmy.
Also, after hearing all this talk about ISIS I decided to check them out.
I picked up the Not in Rivers but in Drops E.P. with the music video.
My verdict...
Some pretty kick ass shit.
I will be looking for the rest of their output.

When Metallica was listenable, he was definitely the most talented member of the band.

Steve Harris

Chops, brudda.

Juan Alderete (Racer X)

Hell yeah bro, love that band, thought they were a bit too cheesy for Metal Hell though. You need to be the best bassist to keep up will Paul Gilbert himself.

Roger Patterson & Tony Choy (Athiest)

Great jazz/latin bass in that orgasmic band.

Steve DiGiorgio (Death)

I love his dark chords and random stuff that he puts in between licks that kicks ass.

Stephan Fimmers (Necrophagist)

Once again, they need a good bassist to keep up with Muhammed.

Norberg (Spiral Architect)

Sean Malone (Cynic)

Great band, cool bassist.

Geddy Lee

One of my personal favorites, lots of jazz and funk influence.

Victor Wooten

I think he might be the best ever. Seriously.

Les Claypool

Love the popping and slapping, unique and distorted bass lines.

Martin Mendez (Opeth)

True that, memorable bass parts.

Tip: If you're looking for the best bassists EVER, you'll find them in jazz.

This is true. We wouldn't have stellar rock or metal bassists without jazz. You're missing Jaco Pastorious btw. That guy was insane.

Yeah, that's not my list. I don't know why he left Jaco off, he could really play. Another fantastic jazz bassist (upright) was Paul Chambers - his stuff with Miles and Trane was hip as fuck. And Charles Mingus, definitely.

Yeah, I've been following it. Shit's getting real over there; I hope that Ahmadinejad gets kicked out, and the rightful president gets the position (hopefully and likely Mousavi).

Thanks guys, I had a very SIX FLAGS day today with some of my friends, remember more flags = More fun. :D

And I got home an hour ago to see some of my other friends made me a surprise mini-party with lots of cake.

I got Dream Theater's album Black Clouds and Sliver Linings at the party, didn't that come out yesterday? Either way, i'm loving it so far(Half way through disk 1).

Also i'm pumped for Pro-Pain, Sworn Enemy and Mantic Ritual on Friday.

And i'd like to add that starting next week on Monday I will no longer be on newgrounds until the end of summer with the exception of Saturday nights and Sundays.

From next week till the end of August I will be working Mondays - Saturday afternoons at a overnight summer camp as a camp counselor and there is no computer there.

Just so you guys know when i'm never around except on sundays that i'm not dead.

And finally, a list of shows i'm going to that I know of so far:

Pro-Pain on Friday
Summer Slaughter Tour in July
Thrash and Burn tour on Clockday.
Obituary, Goatwhore, Krisiun, Warbringer and The Berserker in September.
Porcupine Tree and some other bands in September.
Dragonforce, Sonata Arctica and Taking Dawn in October.
Vader, Decrepit Birth, Warbringer, The Amenta, Augury and S.W.W.A.A.T.S. in November.

Also this show is in August, it's only TEN DOLLARS:

Vision Of Disorder
Poison The Well
Bane
Terror
War Of Ages
The Ghost Inside
The Mongoloids
Trapped Under Ice
Crime In Stereo
This Is Hell

I haven't even heard of any of these banmds, let alone listened to them. Do you guys know anything about them? If so is it worth spending $10 for these 10 bands?

Also what's going on in Iran is intense, I saw a video where the police fired tear gas into the crowd there, but the wind was blowing the wrong way and the gas blew back into the cops. Haha

Also, I say also a lot.

DISCUSS.

Make war, not love.
