So, I got Show No Mercy and South of Heaven.

Show No Mercy seems to have that feel that Kill 'Em All and Killing Is My Business had. Sort of a low-production, beer-induced recording.

Most of the songs sort of blend together, and some riffs are too 'NWOBHM' for a Thrash band. But they were only starting, I suppose. So we can forgive them.

Best songs for me are the title track, and Die By The Sword.

As for South of Heaven, I don't like it much. It's too slow, and aside from South of Heaven and Behind the Crooked Cross, there aren't really any memorable songs.

Since you guys will be the high authority on the subject, check out this band from my local town. (Kirkcaldy, Scotland)

Drive By Audio (myspace page)

They're called Drive by Audio. Their music style is Beastie Boys meets Motorhead kinda thing.

One of their songs 'Jailbait' is featured in the latest GTA 4 expansion. Although it's a rubbish single mix of the song, the album version is way better.

While I was at a Hammerfall concert yesterday I realised that I've now been a metal head for 30 years!

Yeah, in a way it is. I was actually part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and in Sweden it may have faded a bit but now metal is really big again. I feel proud that I never abandoned metal during those synth and reggae years.

How was the singer's voice? I read a Hammerfall blog three or four days ago saying that Joacim has a really bad cold and the blog was apologizing if the vocals are off at shows the next few days.

Just listened to the new Týr album.

Better than Land. Not a patch on Ragnarok, I thinks untoppable now. It's a great album and can't really be improved upon.

Due to this I've lost almost all interest in Týr, but it was on Spotify so I thought I'd give it a listen.

Today, me and my friends were walking around town, on our way to the movie theatre, and we ran into this hobo.
He carried around a flute, and he tried to play some icelandic folk songs for us, but failed pathetically, and did hit any of the notes correctly. Apparently, the guy is an amphetamine junkie, and he was way buzzed when he ran into us. Anyway, after he finished playing, my friend went "wtf that sounded nothing like that song" and the hobo replied (Roughly translated) "Well, you my friend, obviously cannot comprehend art, and do not appreciate the avant-garde"

Then he went on and rambled on about starting a revolution, and that the icelandic government are fascists.
