I sure do wish that I could go, but being sixteen and living in America makes this a trip that is a little too far for me. I wish I could go though seeing as how Paris is known to be a lovely city.
For I am and forever shall be... a master ruseman.

Sorry guys, I can't make it. I'm low on cash and plane rides to Europe aren't cheap these days... :(

Disneyland! Disneyland! Disneyland! Disney land! Disney land! Disney land!
But on a serious note, I would maybe come to this, but I don't have a currently working passport and screw getting one just for this, if I did get one then I might, but seems I'm out. Pity.
Disneyland!

Derp. It's much hotter there. Plus they got the best temperature. You just need a light vest and maybe a scarf or a hat.
You're not too hot and you're not too cold.

There will be a san francisco one in Julyish. Maybe a chicago one in May (I have to talk to some locals first)
Anyway, if you cant go then you cant. I'm sure at some point there will be something more convenient to you <3
Like i said, meets like Amsterdam were just passing through. Usually smaller crowd and thus that has its own benefits. It wasnt a yearly thing (though i do want to go back to Amsterdam at some point again). Some people find larger events like london or comic con overwhelming. Particularly if youre the shy type.

That'd be me. I wanted to hit the last Glasgow meet, but I wasn't quite 18. And by the time the next one rolls around, I'll be out of the country. So I'm hoping for a smaller one, like in Portland, Oregon or Vancouver, Canada.
This Paris one sounds awesome, and I'd love to go. Paris is a pretty sweet place, if you avoid the tourist traps. But I'm just too strapped on funds and time to make it across the channel.

Hmmm... Go to Chanel Islands to see my family, or Paris which is 12km from the Chanel Islands to see NG... Perhaps I can do both.

I'm gonna hitch hike my way there now.
National express from Portsmouth to Paris (for me) is £56 return.

I would go, but I already have plans. There's always the NG Antarctica Meet 2012. I can't wait for that.

Is the Australian Meet a regular thing or a one off? If the former, is there a thread or a user who organises it or something? I'd really like to go to one some time.

I'd love to go, and have some spare cash, but one and a half weeks before my project deadline is a no-no :(

We could grab the eurostar from waterloo or a plane from heathrow? Which ever seems the best value.
I live 6 miles away from Heathrow so I could get the bus. But the airport is more of a hassle than eurostar. So your choice really. But i'm game.

Haha, you need to keep with the times mate! Eurostar moved to King's Cross St Pancras about a year ago! But yeah I did London to Paris a few months back on Eurostar, wasn't too shabby. Probably quicker than flying in the long run too.

Advice to those who haven't been to Paris before: Look at the ground while walking.
Paris is absolutely covered in shit. I remember when I visited France with school there was heaps of shit every three foot. It was disgusting.
Also there are immigrants round every corner selling bracelets and various other tourist-oriented trinkets.

2 other things:
Don't act like a tourist. DO NOT.
Learn the French currency (Euros) thoroughly, all of the shops will try and rip you off if you act like you don't know the currency, they did it to my 14 year old stepbrother.

I've been a few times. Paris is shit hot, love it. But I can't come. All I will say is make use of the metro and the trains. You can get anywhere with them!

I would like to go really, sounds like a great little great away for the weekend but really its just too soon. I'm still poor from Christmas and the birthdays I celebrate in January. With rent and bills to pay I need every bit of money right. Had it been later in the year I could have made time to save up but just too soon. Shame.

Exactly :(
It's quicker for me to get to Paris than to London, but the timing is just a little to close to deadlines. I've always wanted to go to Paris, though. Another time perhaps.

What?! This is news, I think i have heard about this but because I haven't used the Eurostar for about 4 years I'm not that accustom. We can book in advance leave on friday morning and it's £70 return each if we return on Saturday at 21:13 otherwise it's £100 each if we come back on Sunday. There is a youth ticket on the website for <25 year olds but I couldn't select it :( so those are adult prices.

I was looking earlier too, worked out about £109 going Thursday and returning Monday. Obviously this means the hotel prices will go up too, but if it means we don't have to rush about might be worth considering.
