Suezo here. Im posting in the collab forum becuase I'm interested in getting a long term "Team" together.
I've been pecking around the voice acting/writing scene for a couple of years now not really delving very deep into the subject. But getting into the last leg of my undergrad has freed up time for me to finally persue the entertainment and creative development field like I've always wanted to.
The line-up is pretty straight forward:
-Writers
-Animators
-Voice Actors
-Creative Thinkers
These are all people I'm looking to work with and create new and exciting content for people to view and hopefully, to be inspired like we once were to enter the activity themselves.
I'm not looking for an overly large team of people, but a moderate sized group that is looking to make their own style of content while still particapating on the collaberation front with other artists and groups. I can't garauntee perfection up front, but I can offer you a chance to work with others to help you off the ground in your endeavors, whatever you area of profession may be.
If you are interested in becoming a part of this new "Team" on the Newgrounds/Internet front, drop me a message with some info about yourself, your skills, and any suggestions or questions you may have.
If you would rather make it a "scouting" type of deal. You can post a reply in this thread about any interest you might have and I'll look you up and send you a message.
Thanks for you're time.
you havent posted any info. about yourself, what would be your role on the team? what are your skills? what do you have in mind as projects for the future? care to elaborate?

You're right. I didn't say much about myself.
I am a Writer, Voice Actor, and Musician. If I would have to choose which field I excel in at the moment it would have to be music. Examples of my works are obviously on Newgrounds, and it is not nearly the number of works that I have done off this site and in the real world.
My voice acting talents are rather new at the moment, being made possible by new equipment and time to practice. What I lack in variety of voice (which isn't that bad actually) I certainly make up for in performance and content. As far as examples of my voice work, I really can't site anything from the past thats findable (or in some cases good.) But I have been steadily rising in the activity and hope to do more.
Writing is staight forward. I've been considered a comedic person, and in a way view life like it is one. I've been known to make ridiculous observations on life and other things relevent to our modern society and its trends. I am currently in the process of writing my first novel that I plan to publish in the later half of the year
To answer the other question, I can't pinpoint a specific role that I would play in the team at this moment. If anything you can atleast consider me the "head" of the group since I am establishing the formation, but that could all change in the future. To be more specific with what I bring to the table, I would say that my service to the group would be writing and voice acting.
The potential that I see in this group future-wise, is the creation of entertaining content. This is open to many forms: animation, music, game development... etc. The main point being that the style of this content would hopefully become synonymous (did I spell that right?) with the group and hopefully popular and inspiring to others.
I can write ALOT of bull-shit to convince people there is some kind of amazing fine print, or opportunity involvde on a large scale level. But in all honesty, I don't know what the future holds should this Team get off the ground.
I'm just putting this proposal out, and hoping people are willing to give it a shot. And then, who knows what could happen...
I'd probably be able to help. I'm a animator/designer/8-bit composer. :)
If i had a goat, i'd probably have one more goat then you. Unless you're a farmer or something...
I could volunteer as a "Creative Thinker". I've been told I excel in the 'constructive crit' department, but I doubt that is a noteworthy talent =P (specifically in design and presentation)
Also own a decent microphone and have some animation skills, so helping in other departments is a possibility.
I'm interested in the mystery content your team will be doing.
I'm a desent artist and I can use flash quite well if that would be any help. basically if you need somebody to make so menu art or art for the background of a preloader I can do that. I have never done voice acting but I'm willing to give it a go. Also I studied Media so I can help with writing scripts and thinking of ideas.
Forgot to say that i have access to a recording studio so i can also voice act :)
If i had a goat, i'd probably have one more goat then you. Unless you're a farmer or something...
Ima voice actor http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/3 78193
I can try being a writer, because i see there's already animators
and also i'm not the best animator, but still better than a common person.
PS: What kinda writer(s) would you like to have?
Comedy? Horror? Drama?

i like the idea of working with a team animating but i would like to see what direction the team goes before actually commiting, is that alright? no prob if it isnt though

Sacros thats fine.
Ill be mailing you guys later on tonight.
Do you have a project in mind already that you want this "team" to work on whether it be game development or whatever? If you are on this team what ways of communication will the team use? AIM, email, a newgrounds forum, website?

G0DKING, the plan at the moment is to get the group suedo-formed in the next couple of days/week and then establish a communication system that works with everyone.
I would assume that the easiest method would be messenger (allows for mail and group chat if needed)
As far as the first project goes, theres nothing on the table at the moment. But if you put a bunch of monkeys in a room with pencils and papers they'll come up with something. That or have a humongous shit-throwing festival...
Hey there bro, I may not be "Jesus" At flash, but I have been looking to be apart of a team, I can make a menu, some animating, and I have always wanted to voice act for someone. So if you could reply, that'd be great!
Newgrounds... Everything by ME!
Like Alafraga(sorry if i got your name wrong)
I can Voice Act and i think i'm pretty good in that profession XD, I will try my best Animating Wise, and I imagine ideas for things every day so i think i got Creative thinker under my belt.
The only thing holding me back is if you'll accept me.

Keep me informed about that. Your best bet might be Facebook for the messenger.
Might I suggest that the first project be something simple like a comedy short or something of that nature. Just to test the water so to speak.
So do you need a writer or am i just waisting my time here? : (

I'd like to volunteer as a voice actor. It's not my profession but rather a hobby, and I can do the job well. Just so you know, my voice is firmly bass so while I can do multiple voices anything that is high pitch is out of my range. Also, since this is not my profession I don't have professional grade equipment =(
The other aspect I can provide towards is creative thinking and story development, like "maficmelody". While I would never call myself a writer, I can come up with a good creative story.
Hope I can help out in some way if you feel there is room for me on your team.
Well, what are you baseing your recruiting off of? Because you ask people to state their skills wouldn't it be a better idea to just accept anyone at the moment and see what they contribute to the team first to see if they are actually a member of the team because you can say you can do all these things, but that doesn't mean you can actually do them. (Not saying that the people who are posting here are lying) just saying that some people aren't as adequate at what they say they are.
And how does money get distributed? Like say the team decides to the make a game. Who decides how much money is distributed to who? You? Does everyone on the team get the same amount of money? If so, thats not the brightest idea.... Plus do you get a bonus or more because of at the moment you are the "team leader" as you say or you would like to be refer to as. The are all important questions that should be answered because why should these people offer there ideas or talent when they aren't going to get a fair share?
I want to become a voice actor, I need the practice and I have a really decent mic and a temp pop filter.
I can contribute as a writer, editor, and a creative thinker. I think this project would be awesome to work on, but I will be gone for a week in March (don't know if this is too far in advance, but I don't want to surprise you).
And I am a female, my voice is a bit on the 'softer' side.

You seem full of good questions that can be answered.
You're right, I don't have a concrete criteria at the moment for what is a qualifiable member of the team. Which is why I ask for a description of someone who shows interest about themselves and what they believe to be the best attribute they can bring to the table. This way I can deviate who would be wise to consider as opposed to just taking someone who says they can do something and are interested for the first days or so, and then disappear the next.
This is not just to look at someone's post or message and say "Well that guy can says he can animate pretty well and hes super excited to join a team, hes in." But to look at the actual people showing interest in the group and seeing what they have actually done, taking into acount past discrepancies, or acheivments. I also make an effort to ask my own questions pertaining to improvment of work and that same work ethic.
I take into account natural priorities of people as well. No offense to anyone on this site, but if you are a relatively young age, joined recently (with ample time to submit something) and haven't really contributed anything, you must have more important matters at hand like school, extra curricular things, etc.., or certain hinderances that don't set you up well for a hobby like this. But if I'm wrong about what I just said, I can admit and apologize.
You could call this "criteria" but in all reality, if you have common sense, You would set yourself up the best way you can when requesting an occupation of any kind, and then perform those previously stated qualities to the level you claim. Just as I have by making this request to users on the site.
As far as the money thing goes G0DKING, you sound very passionte about that issue. Did you by some chance get rubbed the wrong way in the past?
The idea of monetary gain never even occured to me when suggesting this idea. I would assume in its early stages, anything the team forms would be an expression of passion for the activity, or form of art to be appreciated like most users on the site seek to do. In no way gauranteing that money will be the product of a project in the future, I would answer by saying that if it comes around to that, I'm sure that level heads can offer a smooth road to agreement.
I would never consider myself to be above anyone else in any sense meerly because I hold a title consiting of two words and a slight definition.

Gotta love the sole determination and the incredibly lengthy patience this person possesses. He even misspell words intentionally enough to make them sound irresistibly lustful and robust. He is sure to become one magnificent writer.
Aside from that, I'd have to agree with Suezo and go with MSN if we want to have private group connections. It's probably the best way for now. Oh, and to the people who don't know, I applied to be a writer for this group via PM. It's cool to meet you all.

I am only questioning like this because these are important questions that need to be answered. I am just trying to look out for the younger people or new to developing who see that this is a chance to become a part of a development team. And don't realize that they could be doing hard work and not get rewarding like they should.
Well, would it really matter if they deviate in a few days or so? It just means that they don't like what the groups is working on or how the group operates? If they deviate than fine; they aren't on the team anymore. Them leaving doesn't effect your team in anyway. So a tip would be anyone that wants to join the team you probably should let them and if they leave or devaite from the team they do it doesn't effect you in anyway or anyone else on the team.
And you said that you want to set yourself up the best way you can; this is not true. You want to be truthfully about your abilities. If you give yourself more credit than you can actually can do, that just makes you look bad when your work isn't at the quality that you said it is or you can't actually do what you said.
And no I haven't been rubbed wrong before. I am just pointing out this is something you should have set out for your team. You say that your team will be in it for the passion of the activity; most people with skills to produce games don't want only to express their passion they want money. Now, I am not saying that they are only in it for the money, but that why would anyone in their right mind do a lot of work on a game or something else profitable and not want some money for there time or effort. Its common sense that if you can make money off your talents you usually try to.
I know for a fact because I am working on my own major project at the moment that the first thing that recruits will email me is How will I be compensated? or how will I be paid? Or is the job paid? Yes, people want to express their passion of game designing (or whatever you are into music producer, art, etc.), but they also want the cash. Another question is why would someone give their idea for a game (or something else) to let you and your "level heads" decide how much money each person gets.
You shouldn't underestimate the younger people on this website or any gaming website. They are just as capable as anyone else to produce something great. Most great ideas for games come from younger people. Now, you can be right about time to an extent. Just because they have to attend school doesn't mean that they don't have as much time as most people. In fact they could produce more in a shorter time or use their time more wisely because of time constraits compare to older (well techincally not older people because that sounds like a insult, but lets say poeple out of school)people because they think that they have more time to finsh the project that they work on and can put it off because of so.
I am not trying to be mean or put down your team I am just trying to see if this is a team that I want to be apart of. Also I'm trying to help new people to game designing or whatever you contribute by not wasting their time on something that they will get nothing in return for their efforts besides expressing their passion; when their are plenty of teams out there that are paying people for their efforts.
G0DKING, I won't quote because that would be rediculously long.
You arguments are in the right places, and are certainly necessary. And of course put in a very respectable manner of understanding. It only serves to help those who read this forum thread be more insightful about what they might be getting themselves into.
You've done well in playing the devil's advocate, but there are congruencies between the statements we have made.
You and I both know we can write extensive paragraphs to validate our points. And surely neither of us is trying to bull-shit in anyway. What I stated before is all my honest opinion to the situation. I wont try to be ambiguous about anything I've said, and in a way I should thank you for helping me be more solid in my descriptive intensions.
I apologize if you disagree with some of my answers to your questions (not saying that you are or aren't) But that is all I can tell you at the moment with this group having yet to exist or create a product of anykind.

Well, I was looking forward to you answer some of the questions I raised in my last post, but I didn't get them which is alright i guess. See the way I see it is that you aren't being realistic. Now, I know that sounds like I'm being mean or putting you down. This is just me criticing you to help structure your team. You need to think that people arent going to put time and effort into making a game that they aren't getting compensated. Now, maybe a game that is like one of the games you play on this website, but in my opinion people that make those could be using their talents elsewhere.
Well, of course the group hasn't existed yet and you haven't create a product yet, but I am just telling you that their are certain things that you should have had set out before you started this thread. Now, if you want I could help structure your team if you would like.
hrmm I may be interested man. You know me I'm a voice actor. Here's my demo reel, the zero bombers got to it lol, they always do.
Click to listen.
Hey, looks like you've got a pretty good team going here. I'm a voice actor/animator(ish)/and composer.
Voice Acting: I have had many years of theater experience and am very expressive in my voice. I have a range from young adolescent male to high female. If you want it in musical terms, that's Low E flat to High High E I believe. I am very experienced at antagonistic characters. This is my strongest point.
Animating: I would be better as a concept artist but that probably isn't very useful for what you're planning to do here. However I have adequate animating skills. But I'd rather not be brought onto the team for them. I'm not as confident in them as I would like them to be. This is my weakest point.
Composing: I work with Finale Print Music 2007 which can export .mp3 however, it's only for traditional and non-electric (for the most part) instruments. So if you ever need an orchestrated piece, I would be good for that. This is neither my strongest no my weakest point.
