Damn, is it possible for a non icon mod to check if flashes already have icons?

Once you become an icon mod, it gets a lot easier. We have cropping tools, similar to the one used for thumbnails in the art portal.
By Similar, I mean the only difference is the size it crops it to.

Or, do you want us to find movies that are about these game series that lack icon.
I assume the first one, but I don't want to look like a complete dope.
Me too, I am still confused with the Video Game Parodies how Tom just wanna have a great weird thread.

Uploaded both of them. Instead of making a post for each icon you make, post many at a time. You'll reach the 4 post limit, if you haven't already. So upload them on dumping grounds or imgur and post about 10 at a time.
Once you hit 10, you'll probably be icon modded.

All uploaded. You should be able to PM Tom/Wade now to become an icon mod.

I decided to try to make a tutorial on how to make an icon like I do.
Note: This is only how I make icons. You can use another way if you want to.
How to make a good icon for dummies.
Step 1: Download a good snapshot program that can save to an PNG and can drag areas where you want to take a snapshot. I think Jing can do that, I'm not sure, I am on a mac. If you are on a mac then I recommend you getting Capture Me. It's very easy to use and exports great quality.
Step 2: Choose a flash movie and find a good scene to take a snapshot of, or preferred, find the scene where the original icon of the movie was taken. Right click on the flash movie and press the "Play" button. That should make the movie pause. If the area you wish to take a picture of is too small, try right clicking and press the option that says "Zoom in". That should give you an clear and a good shot of what you want to take a pic of.
Step 3: Drag the area of what you want to take a picture of. This should possible in both of these programs I mentioned, if not in Jing, try googling: good snapshot program.
Step 4: When you have dragged the area you wish to take a snapshot of(note: make sure that the area you took a snapshot of is bigger then 140x90, and not smaller than that!) save it as a .PNG file.
Step 5: Download a program like Gimp or Photoshop. I make my icons with Photoshop.
Step 6: Open the PNG file you just made with either of these programs.
Step 7: Press ctrl A(or cmd A if your on a mac) and copy the image in the program by pressing ctrl C(cmd C in mac).
Step 8: Create a new project in the image program. Make the canvas size 140x90. Write where it says Width: 140 and where it says Height 90. Create the new project.
Step 9: Paste the image by pressing ctrl/cmd v. You should notice that the image doesn't match the frame and you only see a part of the image you just pasted.
Step 10: If your on Photoshop, use "free transform" by going to Edit>Free Transform. Edit the image so it matches the frame. Use the scale tool if you're using Gimp.
Step 11: When you are happy with the result on the frame, Go to File>Save for web (it should say save for web and devices in Photoshop)
Step 12: Change the option where it says Colors: 256 to 128. If you see much loss in the image quality then change it back to 256 colors. Then press the save button.
Voila! This isn't the best tutorial I made but I think it should do the trick. And I am not sure if Jing can drag, because I have never used it.
Oh and I forgot, save your image as an .gif file in photoshop or in gimp!!!
I did the entire collection of Randy Solem who I think is the most critically acclaimed sprite parody artist on the website, I did his a while ago though.

Sounds good, but I think it may be easier if they did:
1. Find the flash you want to do a icon for and find the scene that you want to make into an icon.
2. When ready, hit your PrtSccn button (Command-Control-Shift-3) on a Mac.
3. Open an image editing program (I use Microsoft Paint for simplistic purposes) and crop out the main part of the scene you want to turn into a icon. Copy it.
4. Open a new file in Photoshop, Gimp is a free alternative - and I heard good things about Paint.net but have never used it myself, set the image scale to 140x90.
5. Paste the image.
6. Use Free Transform to scale the layer (image) accordingly. Make it look nice.
7. When it looks nice, save it as a .gif file. Be sure to try and stay in good quality, while retaining a file size of 5-7 KB. You can change the file size using Colors, when you save. Lowering to 60 is okay for some flashes that use less detailed sprites.
There we go.
May be just me, but I see using snapshot programs as not completely necessary.
Wow, you guys are doing a great job! Keep it up!
As far as the two tuts recently posted, they seem way too complicated. Before I tried my hand with this stuff in this thread, I had never made a thumbnail before. The simplest way I've done it so far is like this:
1. Play submission and pause it (with right click menu) when I find a good scene.
2. In gimp I use the screen grab function found in create.
3. In that new window I select an area that would look good as a thumbnail then copy paste it into a window that I had prepared for it with an area of 140x90.
4. Then with the scale tools found in tools > transform > scale (ctrl+t) I just insert the value of 140x90.
5. Then layer > anchor layer. (shift+h).
6. Then I flatten the image twice because it seems to work better that way.
7. Save as a .gif which includes you having to export it but it does it automatically.
8. Upload the file.
If there's an easier way, I'd love to know it. The way I just described takes about 30 seconds or less (not counting the time it takes to find the appropriate scene in the submission).

I was looking at EJR's FAQ on Icon Mod - http://ejr.newgrounds.com/news/post/4883 03
Head down to "Q: How do I make icons?"
About there is where it gives you two or three tutorials. Easy to understand, I say.
