J-j-jam It In

So im kinda interested in being an animator in one of these Jams, getting the chance to work with other people and whatnot... but i seriously have an issue with the NG Movie Jams being set to 2 (or is it 3) days?
I can see a Game Jam being that short since pre-production is so short on a small game, just deciding broadly what kind of game you want to do and then assigning everyone tasks.
Animation has longer pre-production and a much more linear process with certain things needing to be done before something else can.
If it were a solo thing i could MAYBE see certain people being able to come up with something worthwhile for it in that time but as a collaborative project you're basically giving 1 day to pre-production and 1 or 2 day to the animator/s.
I consider myself a fairly fast animator but even doing just character animation for something that's only a minute long i can't see myself being able to finish that in a day without resorting to super-cheap tactics....and if that's the case than the animator is just being a vessel for the writers/actors and not getting the chance to flex their own muscles which is not something i'd be interested in.

Seriously though, I guess the jam is a test of your ability to work fast. With 2 animators (or bg artist and character animator) it should be do-able.
You'll just have to push yourself i guess.
Chuck's new tux was made in less than 12 hours or something and it won a tank award.
