One Empty Chair

Another year has come and gone,

and we are on the next.

But the world is not perfect,

the fact that we must change.

The empty chair,

a symbol of torment.

Thousands of people,

inside prisons they lie.

We must free them,

from their torment they did not deserve.

The words that go unheard,

are our salvation.

Someday, we all can light the candle,

that will lead us to a brighter future.

Very stirring, you defiantly get the point of it across. Though I would have to say there were times when the words just didn't flow right, which is essential to great poetry. A simple re-word here or there and this is golden.
