if you want a dubstep contest brokendeck has agreed to make it s SNAC - just talk with him and set it all up - naturally I won't be judging it.

Not particularly. You have to read the individual rules each month. For instance this month, covers of songs in public domain are cool.

Never will there be covers of copyright songs allowed though

exactly - the only reason we allow covers and remixes in this contest is because you aren't allowed to copyright folk songs, as they were made hundreds of years ago and the person who made them is long dead and didn't even know such a thing as copyrights existed.

That and folk songs are passed down by word of mouth and are thus for everybody :)

How about Island theme?

It could be ragga, or classical or something, that would be pretty cool.

We covered classical in January's NAC.

Island rhythms or reggae would be cool for an upcoming contest though.

well so far one person has submitted to this month's contest.

I am hopingthis means that everyone else is takign more time to work on their submissions.

Otherwise, we may only have one contestant hahaha..

unfortunately yes.

That or the contest is closed down due to an inadequate amt of contestants applying.

I think the problem might be the theme. I understand why it was chosen, what with St. Patrick's day and the unusual style, but I think maybe it's a little too niche for most of the guys here to really produce something for.

I don't know, maybe people really are just taking their time and coming up with something amazing. We'll just have to wait and see.

that's what I am hoping - a contest of one person would be the biggest failure in the history of newgrounds.

I´m curently working on a project with a few others. A complete instrumental song. We only hope to find someone to play the low whistle for us.
But it is as you say, "maybe people really are just taking their time" Yes we do and it´s not everyday we all can get together and work on the project. Maybe there´s alot more people making complete instrumental songs this time, and that´s why there´s so few that have submitted so far (1 ) Hopefully!

we considered it but due to the lack of kwoledge on both the submitters part and the judgers for this kinda genre we decided it wouldn't be very popular.

still brainstormnig for april. April is kinda a sucky month.

I was thinknig since april is easter to make it a heavenly theme - not religious mind you - just think of pure wholesome sounding music, choirs, flutes, progressive house, trance, ambiant heavenly pads.. stuff like that.

Just stuff that's extremely beautiful, delicate and graceful to listen to, with complex interlaced effects and melodies.

lemme know what you guys think.
