I want you guys to attempt to do other things as well - porn music isnt exclusively "70s porn" music - there have been 40 years worth of porn since.

try to diversify it a bit k guys?

There was pornography on cave drawings you know... does that mean people can submit Neolithic style porn music? :P

I would be interested in entering the contests anytime, it's just none of the past few contests have interested me

Yet, you entered in the orchestral one and came into the Top 8.

Because most producers spend most of their time writing porn tunes.

porn music is'nt obscure - and newgrounds has an entire a capella genre - so that isn't obscure either.

so instead of being snippy why don't you give me some ideas.

Summer tune, non-"filthy" dubstep, non-related genre infusion, song using no samples, fitting a song to a selected video,

this is going to sound bad, but a whole genre? originality being the main factor in judging.

Just throwin some out there.

no.

non-related genre infusion, song using no samples,

huh?

fitting a song to a selected video,

fitting a song into a selected video could be interesting..

what we could also possibly do in future is collaborate with some flash artists and make submissions that they would then choose to be in their flash games.. thus ensuring the songs get used in flash's.. as was the original purpose of the audio portal.

I'm going all out there but what about ;;

Ibiza Dance Theme
Detective Theme
Trip-Hop Theme
Glitch Music Theme
Amen Break Contest
A contest in which you'd provide a strange sample and the contestants would have to use those samples in a song.
A song in which we would have to interpret the sun.
A Rustic Theme (Harpschichords and that sort)
Prison Theme
Stealth 'Spy' sort of theme.
A 'Newgrounds Theme Song' Contest
A simple, innocent children theme, sorta...
A song in which we'd have to use the generic chord progression and the kick-hat-snare-hat drum beat.
A 'closed in a glass box' theme.

Enough for you? Now make a damn contest.

and of course the theme I've always been advocating: make a song based on the expression "this is your brain on drugs"

That would be awesome, a lot of originality could come from it.

A suggestion for the next NAC: epic soundtracks. By which I mean you compose something that could be used in a movie for an epic effect.
Something like the Requiem for a Dream score: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE-rD8vcY 4U

I'd suggest an Indian NAC. Like, music that has elements/influences from Hindustani, Carnatic and other Indian folk musics, rather than Bollywood music... Actually, Indian popular music might make a good NAC too..... Eh, whatever.

The first idea is definitely better.

I think that would be too limiting - from past experience if you make it too specialized you simply don't get enough members participating.

Also we've already had an orchestral contest this year.

Perhaps a "spooky" contest. Participants need to make a song that sounds eery and spooky. Don't know.

I'll just threw again my idea of making a "Remix NG Classics" Contest.

Have your own original take on the tunes all newgrounders have learned to love and respect.

NG emblematic tunes like Instrumental #4 by Reasoner
SpacePirates by Waterflame
Heaven's Rave by ZeRo-BaSs
Paradise on Earth (although I think it has already being remixed to death XD).
Something by FatherofDeath
or MaestroRage (SymphonyofSpecters)
or by Dimrain47
or even by ParagonX9

Just to put some examples...

tbh we don't really need a contest to do that.
