I could make up the post and host and be a judge, even as muchas I would want to participate (would be the second time this happens lol) but the only thing I would need is finding judges, any takers?

Honestly Chron, I think it might be better if you just set the next challenge without taking ideas/whining from other people. Keep it a surprise until the first of June, and if they don't like it they can suck a hundred dicks OR like you said just run their own contest.

works for me - I just like to let everyone have their say so that in the end if they whine I can say they had the chance to have their say.

I'd love to judge something like that as well. I love listening to unconventional rhythms resolve. I'd be willing to review every comp entry as a bonus.

well you guys have a choice. You can either make one that conforms to all the NAC rules and the same structure of judging as the NAC, and have the store credit prizes that newgrounds gives out.. or you can make your own contest and award your own contest.

If you want the former though you have to let me know asap so that I can pm the thread to Tom.

You know what fuck it I'll just pm him the fact we are having a "time signature" contest as a secondary contest.

I've listed it under a SNAC (secondary NAC) which means it conforms to the asme rules as the main NAC, same judging system, same prizes, and I pmed the link of the thread to Tom.

I eralize that Rucklo encouraged you all to msg tom with your contest ideas, and I would have encouraged you too before however it seems that those that have TRIED have.. well.. they haven't gotten any responses back from Tom..

Cool idea for this month's NAC Chronamut, I dig it. I'd participate but the whole idea of "quality" gets lost when other people listen to my tinny sounding music. I like my tin, lol.

So you either have to be have a rather in depth knowledge of theory or a good microphone and good singing voice to participate this month.

Both contests seem pretty exclusive, but oh well.

The Time sig was designed o that everyone has a chance, if they're willing to actually try, the only exclusive part of it is to those willing to do something different

yes quite so.

as for a good singing voice - not so if you can be creative - a lot of acapellas are all just "duh" noises.. not even words.

I'm sure everyone here will have a very fair chance at both of the contests going on currently. No one on NG should worry much about their voice, because it's most likely already better than that of an average pop-star lol. Ugh in Hong Kong, the music stores are full of nothing BUT pop-stars... >_<

and hey - if autotune can make a bunch of talented popstars sensations - then just IMAGINE what it can do for you!

also I forgot an acapella example.. prolly one of the most famous.. silly me..

Is synthetic choir VST acceptable?

you can use "oohs" and "ahhs" from a choir liek you would hear in an acapella.. however you cannot solely use a choir vst to make your entire acapella. It would be a disgrace to everyone who actually put effort into the contest.

EFFORT people - I don't care if you suck - just TRY.
