I just started work on a new game on friday inspired by Portal Defenders (with Borderlands style weapon system in the plans), the engine is obviously incomplete functionality wise but its got a pretty solid base and shouldn't take too long to develop fully (Area loading/Map and Enemy AI is the only stuff that will take any substantial time) but I'd like someone to work alongside as an artist, cross motivation and all that.
I have stuff going on at school through most of January but nothing too major so I'm not in a massive rush to find an artist, relax ;)
The reason I didn't say animator is because I can handle most of the animation myself and it makes the programming easier. It's really just stuff like background art, shrubbery, floors etc, though if you know how to animate effects (smoke, fire, explosions) thats a major plus because I suck at that. The only thing is I cant really put this in any other forum, the collab forum is like for 3 or more people projects (or at least thats what it attracts mostly), the art forum is full of photoshop guys and the flash forum is mostly a programmer hub now.
Pay:
Well I can't offer you anything instant but my first game sold for 2.5k and it was pretty bad. So I think it's safe to say this game if pulled off properly and according to plan could gross the same, if not double!
Percentages:
Well it's quite an embarkment code wise and you will only be in charge of as stated above so I think
30%-50% for you (depending on how much/well you do the art and if you did any animation on top)
50%-70% for me
So there's flexibility there
This is assuming we don't get specially made music and just go royalty free though we can always just proportionally cut down our shares in case of the former.
I know I'm missing something can't remember what. Oh well, thats all I can remember, drop a comment if you're interested please, or mail me at mike@innermike.com
god I hope thats everything, I hate making extension posts

Hey,
I'm definetely interested and do have some experience in animating for the exact same kind of game (working on a soon-to-be-released brawler).
Since the game doesn't look that "massive" (animation-wise at least) I'd say I'd be able to do a pretty good job animating and doing the art for the game.

Well it's an early version of the game, a lot of long (horizontally) levels will be involved, often with two scrolling layers, and you are already working on a game, I just don't want to stress/overwork you, but if you really think you're OK with the workload then I've got no problem having you on the team.

I'm pretty much done with it, so I'll have no probs working on your project.
Looking forward to work on the game. ;)

I would love to do this, but i new to Flash and animating, i could still do a reference sheet with some characters if you want.

Hey dude, went to your site. Pretty cool stuff but there is a bug in the Pixel Launch game. When ever the guy would stop and come back to the cannon it would read this error.
TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.
at PixelLaunch/Loop()
Just thought you should know dude.

As I said, that was my first game, really sucked. But as you can see, if something like that can go for 2.5k then :D
