I always pronounced it "POOWN" Not completely like OO, but with a small W added before the N.

Powned is proper. Powned derived from the word owned which derived from the word own which derived from the word cat.

It's pown. Since it branched off of a misspell of "owned" by using a 'p' instead of an 'o'. Pretty easy to figure out.
