How about pointing out why you think it is bland?
It is a nice platformer requiring skills and timing, with a touch of humor and awesome music to complement it. Nothing to not love.

It's the way the levels scroll. I find that the level-scrolling makes the game a lot less enjoyable because I'm always stressed to make the jump perfectly and within the amount of time. Then, I have to repeat the level several times (sometimes dozens) before I get it right.
I know some people find that charming, and that it adds a sense of urgency and skill to the game, but it's such a big turn-off that I can't even play the game.
I don't always disagree with scrolling levels, though. In SMB3, I liked the scrolling levels. Meat Boy just doesn't do it quite like SMB3, I guess.

It's not the challenge, I just don't like the game mechanics. I don't like being rushed by a video game.

I've never played the retail version of the game but I think the scrolling levels just makes it harder than it's supposed to be. I don't mind that though.
I just find it... fun to play? I don't see much to complain about.
It's got a unique art style, coupled with some super smooth physics. I can see where the concept might be a little dull for some people though. Personally I haven't played in a while, as I've been caught up in Braid.

What the hell are you talking about? You're not rushed. You can take your time, just expect to die a lot.

He's probably talking about the flash game.
Your the first person I've seen not like the game. You can expect the game to take the piss, it does, you will have to use trial and error, especially on the bosses. Its a very challenging game and I really enjoy it.

Well, it's obvious that I'm not going to buy the game if I don't like the free version.

And you think you're the only one? I doubt there is even a single player out there who has completed Super Meat Boy without at least dying on some stage or another on a playthrough. That's its kick: its difficulty. You're gonna die in the game, no matter how you look at it. It's a game of memorization, and trying and figuring out the level. But I guess you don't like difficulty? That or don't like hard games that you die a lot.

I like a game to be challenging, but when it becomes a impossible drudge through the entire game, I guess I don't like difficulty.
I didnt like the flash game at all but I really liked SMB. It just controls so much better and is way more fun. Meat boy is meant to be played with a controller.
It's a good game, but it's starting to become just as advertised as Neurotically Yours.

ITs like they are acting as if its the first lego island (was the shit)

I've never played the original flash version, but I quickly fell in love with Super Meat Boy. If you're on PS3 or 360, I urge you to download the trial first.
It's a great game. If you don't like it, it's your loss. Nobody is dying to convince you to play it, we're all too busy having fun with it ourselves. Stop unnecessarily hating everything.

Woah, somebody's panties are in a bunch. I just said I didn't like the game, and I was wondering why other people liked it.
The great thing about meat boy is that you can download super meat boy for the PC for free (torrentz) and play that.
Its a glitch-fre improved version. (for best quality set resolution to 640:480).
A signature? here? I see no purpose.
A friend gifted that game to me through steam, and I didn't like it. It's just another typical flash platformer.

THIS!
Thank god someone else agrees with how I feel.
Meat Boy fucking sucks dude...
It's not that it is too hard or easy... its just tedious, boring, dull gameplay.
...and its made out to be like the next best thing since Super Mario Brothers.

YES.

I don't really care about how much publicity/nerdlove it gets. But, really, I don't understand why it gets all that.
I still appreciate the artists' work, and I also appreciate the risk in an indie game. I'm kind of proud that a good indie game came out of Newgrounds and all it took was a Dev Team and their computers. Now they're making a lot of money and have a big fanbase for their game. But it really was a risk, since it was a whole lot of nobodies trying to make a big impact in society. I guess it works sometimes, eh?
I feel Super meat boy to be slightly over-rated, but it's still a fun game, it's the challange that makes it fun.
Although it's really like a professional game you could find on newgrounds (hell, isn't it made by a newgrounder?)
Play the trial for it, it is SO much better than the riginak flash version, I dint like the flash one, but I feel in love with SMB.
illicit makes a damn good signature.

I don't like the flash versions because it's crude and unresponsive, but with Super Meat Boy it's refined to a fantastic platformer, controls are responsive, well made and a blast to play.

Watch yourself boy, we bite at all torrent users who aren't downloading Linux distros.
But Super Meat Boy is a totally different experience from the original Meat Boy. Funny cutscenes, huge circular saws, ENEMIES (though only in the Hospital and Hell chapters), and loads more stuff that makes the game awesome. Let me link you to a Let's Play of Super Meat Boy. Here it is.
Now tell me you don't like that.
Obviously you've only played the flash game, because there are only a few scrolling levels in Super Meat Boy.

Yeah, this was the point I forgot to make.
Don't base Super Meat Boy on some early flash version. The game is excellent. Try it before making some uneducated opinion.
