So how are the winners gonna be announced? Is there gonna be some sort of vote, or are we going by score, or..?

Edmund McMillen and Tom Fulp will be judging the winners this next week!

Also, I'm going to be creating a blacklist of all the people who decided not to show up. If you got a name, PM it to me, please.

Here is what Austin said VHSTapeClock.

And there were a bunch of others too that I found.

While this is pretty cool and all, I think it pretty much kills the chances of sponsorship. Unless you change the game name or something. Or at least add a "deluxe" to it.

Yeah, I just went and googled "Dravalanche" and saw a couple of sites that stole it, I'm pretty sure nobody else on the team has even heard of half the sites that stole the game. The best I could do is try to report it on the site, but we all know how that goes, so it's pointless I suppose.

Arctic Rush was only taken by a website that breaks games and makes them available to download (like a torrent, I supppose)
Idk, I guess thats a bad thing, that we aren't good enough to get stolen, lol xD
But it looks like the other websites have only taken the FP games.

It's not stealing at all. The games on the front page are more or less free to take. That's the point of the front page, to give you exposure on NG and to help your game spread to other sites. Most sites assume they're doing you a favor by take your game, and in most cases, they are. If you don't want your game to spread, you should sitelock it like tomdeaaap did.

Well on one hand, it means our games are good enough to be taken and played on other sites. Even the ones that weren't front paged. On the other, there's the whole sponsorship thing...

Back in the days before having ads in our games when someone stole your game it sucked quite a bit. Now that we have ads it still sucks that we lose ad revenue from having exclusive content but it takes a bit of the sting out.

Site locking works, however if the person is dubious enough it's not a big deal to decompile the game and remove sitelocks if they really want to. Most people are far to lazy to do that but it only takes one to create a version of your game that can go viral without your knowledge.

Oh, one more thing... I recommend using a tracking system like MochiBot, I think it's now pretty much dead and replaced with the mochimedia ad system but you don't have to use the ads to use the analytics that they provide. They track things like sites hosting your game and how many plays they are getting.

well if your game has already spread, if you had the NG API integrated in the first place just use the game protection feature

I keep forgetting to post this, but it's awesome what we ended up with here.

A massive collaboration of nearly 80 talented developers from all over the world. (Not counting those who dropped out). We had artists, animators, programmers and musicians get together to cram a game in 72 hours. Most had never worked with each other before, and they had to cooperate to make a game that conveys the theme however they interpreted it.

The end result is a staggering 18 completed games, symbols of successful teamwork from people around the globe. Our efforts have been seen, collectively, by close to a quarter of a million people.

I am proud to be in such an amazing event and I am extremely thankful to Newgrounds and to Austin for organizing this whole thing.

Here you go.

Id like to mention here that; as and artist that knows a bit of actionscript, I specifically enlisted as artist because I wanted to do art. You should be wary of putting too much weight on certain shoulders.
On a semi-related note; Im working on coding our unfinished game myself so that it can still be released.

I wanted to sign up as an artist, but I knew I would be more useful as a programmer, however I wound up doing nothing but animating the second day of the first jam. I also wound up doing all the sound effects for the game.

On this jam our second artist couldn't work so I picked up the slack and did the menus. Not nearly as much artwork as the last time but it's still wearing a few hats. I also did a few sound effects for this game. Thankfully my team was really good and we had enough time for everyone to find the time to get stuff together.

I say that if you are a competent programmer and a great artist sign up as a programmer and help with the art where you can. It gives you a much better pull on the direction of the game and you can set up your clips how you like them and send them as templates to your artists.

I think it's actually pretty tough to call, the BearBound icon and menu screen just look nice and approachable.

I think it's a dead heat between these...

BearBound has the most polish and looks the most finished which makes it a little more popular with the users. But remember the judging is done by Tom and Edmund. They see though the polish and know what goes into making games like these.

Personally I think that Escape From Ice Mountain would have blown BearBound away had they had just a few more hours to work out bugs and polish the game.

Though if Team Mountain Goat wins I won't be sad about it by any means.

You only got frontpaged because you entered the game jam. it wasn't because your art was good. tom hendrik's programming was what made the game playable. Also stop whoring out the fact that you're 11 and can use flash, Wow, you're a real prodigy. You aren't even that good at it.

not as if you even PLAYED the game: you have NO medals from it what so ever and you'd get at least one medal from one play through

Ok guys, you can stop now neither of you is going to win this little fight and be completely right.

CartoonWarStudios: At 11 years old you are a lot farther along in using flash than most 11 year olds but always remember you have a lot to learn and don't get to big for your britches.
I'm 29 and I've been using flash for nearly as long as you have been alive... and there is always going to be someone better than me out there. Don't be proud or boastful cause there will always be someone willing to put you in your place. Let your skill be shown through your work and don't worry about what others say unless they are giving constructive criticism.

Ishkabibbles: I like being a troll as much as the next internet dick hole... but really you can stop. The kid is 11... yes you have proven that you can piss him off. I remember when I was 11 and I was proud of something I would defend it like my life depended on it. He did make a game for the jam, he did a fairly good job too. He had help yes and the frontpage thing is more than likely only because of the jam but try not to belittle the fact that he does have a game on frontpage. For an aspiring artist or developer that kind of thing means a lot.

Ok well if you must troll and have a flamewar please go ahead I can't say it's not entertaining. I just think that CWS deserves a little slack for being a part of the jam, and actually being part of a team that completed a game, so if you can settle down a bit and respect that, I think we would all appreciate it.

Well, however the results come out, I'm really impressed with what we managed to finish, considering we weren't the most skilled of teams. And I think if we manage to polish and sponsor it, then I'd call it a success.
