Post-Xmas Setup? Dec. 23rd, 2010 @ 04:50 PM Reply

Sup NG.

So here's what I'm planning to do with my Christmas money (assuming I get any). Because I can't afford a new desktop and I definitely won't get enough for a decent one, I'm going to use this laptop and plug in some speakers, a mouse/keyboard and a monitor. A gaming monitor, gaming keyboard and a gaming mouse. Just some typical speakers.

I was just wondering if that would work? Would all that stuff be able to work plugged in simultaneously to my laptop? Are there enough ports for everything? It's a Logitech X450 Multimedia Speaker System, Microsoft Sidewinder X8 Mouse, Asus VH2220 21.5 inch widescreen LCD monitor and a Logitech G15 gaming keyboard. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 6920 (not a 6920g). That means nothing to me, so I was hoping it might mean something to NG.

Are there enough ports for everything on the computer? Or do I need some kind of adapter? Halp plz, kthxlol.

TL;DR: read it, fatty.

You don't game on a laptop; it's retarded. If you already got the laptop return it or kill your self.

I've had the laptop for 2 years. Just getting this stuff and using on my laptop AT THE MOMENT until I get my desktop.

Will it work?

If you want to waste money; gaming keyboards and mice are gimicks. And gaming monitors don't exist.
Monitors are monitors. Get a logitech M510, I like it and it and it was two side buttons. more than I need. As for keyboard it's either get a mechanical one or get a $5 one for gaming. I chose the latter.

Okay, I'm a sucker for appearance. But at least I'm not buying Alienware.

And gaming monitors don't exist. Monitors are monitors.

Yeah, gaming monitor was badly worded. A monitor I have been told was good for gaming. The keyboard and the monitor are based on a recommendation by a friend.

Get a logitech M510, I like it and it and it was two side buttons. more than I need.

I might. I rather like the one I saw but I don't know yet.

As for keyboard it's either get a mechanical one or get a $5 one for gaming. I chose the latter.

Again, sucker for appearance. I really do like the look of this keyboard and it was reduced by like 40% of the price.

Don't buy a computer; build your own.

That will be a while away, but I'm considering it.
