I cried when Jesus died in the Bible.

But I thought we were talking about fiction here.

Exactly, also he comes back to life, like 1 page later.

Upset, but not enough to make me cry properly. I've felt a lump in my throat at quite a few characters reaching the end of the road:

Druss in Legend, by David Gemmell

Also by Gemmell, Shield of Thunder. When Argurios is slain by an arrow, he manages to struggle back to Laodike, his lover and they both die in one another's arms

Ghengis Khan in Bones of the Hills, by Conn Iggulden. I've read 3 novels with this man and feel that I've lived a lifetime alongside the great warlord, seeing him grow from a promising, headstrong young lad into a man that unified the Mongol people.

Mort, in Soul Music, by Terry Pratchett. I enjoyed the book Mort amazingly and I was really drawn into the series after reading that particular novel, but in Soul Music, when the carriage ploughs over the cliff and the Duke and Duchess of Sto Lat both perish, even the burning wheel rolling out of the wreckage (such conventions must be observed) couldn't raise my spirits.

Lady Toda Mariko in Shogun, by James Clavell. She felt dishonoured to have been a victim of a cowardly attack on Lord Toranaga's residence, by Lord Ishido's Ninja. The funeral sequence that Clavell wrote was incredibly touching and moved me to the very brink of tears.

I feel that it's not a weakness, it's a sign of good writing.

I am a huge fan of F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack Series. The main character Jack is a wonderful character. In one of the books something terrible happens to his girlfriend gia and her daughter. Jack is stuck in the middle of a huge war between 2 massive forces. At one point it gets extremely emotional. I was on the subway reading this part and i was so choked up that my eyes started watering. Some old lady across from me was staring at me and started smiling when i was tearing up.

When the boy got old an left, and the dog got old and lonely in See Spot Run.

I think I am remembering that right, I haven't seen it since I was little.

If you're talking about that episode where Fry's dog gets left behind in the past, that made me sad too. Dogs are my one weakness.

Children of the Mind SPOILERS in this post.

Yea. There is a plot point toward the end of the Ender's Game series whereby copies of his older sister and older brother are created, instilled with pieces of Ender's personality instead (since he was the happy median between the two, it took a while to figure it out (and the plot makes it make sense... read the books, damnit)). He realizes that the only way to destroy them is to tear them down in the cruelest and meanest way possible.

It was so well written. Maybe my youth contributed in how choked up I was getting over the scene where he is as cruel as possible to his sister (who is only a child, whereas Ender is a full grown man). The brutal destruction of innocence he has to perform to kill his false siblings (who don't know any better and can't otherwise it won't work) got to me. I didn't cry, but man I was close.

That would have been hilarious had you not explained why it was.

Also, I only cry from reading books, and movies when I was like 8. Whoever cries over video games is a totall and complete fag.

Good books are still my weakness.

When Sirius died, when Dumbledore died, when Hedwig died, when Dobby died, when Snape died, when Lupin died and while reading the epilogue. Because of how shit the epilogue was.

Actually a Fantasy Fantasy VII fanfiction made me cry once. It was like one of the first fanfics I ever read, I must have been about 13/14, and it was heartbreaking. Bascially Tifa sacrificed her life so Cloud could have Aeris back, just as she did this though Cloud realised his true feelings for her, though it was too late, she was dead. It ended with him travelling alone and feeling her with the wind. It was quite touching.

No spoiler alert? I don't think I'm going to bother watching the final part now.

I got misty eyed when the main character's mother allows him to fuck her in the book 'portrait of a young man drowning'... hes like so out of control, and the fact that his mother becomes as twisted as him was very devastating to me.

Dude, Jacob is a hipster douchebag piece of shit.
The way I see it, by killing my entire squad save for Legion, me (Shepard) and him can go on to be an ass kicking, galaxy saving, Reaper smacking duo in Mass Effect 3.

If it were possible, I'd break Shepards legs so he could be the sick-of-the-world wheelchair bound cripple, and Legion could be the rookie learning the ropes from a bitter veteran, slow to accept him but who, by the end, will treat Legion as the son his smashed up testicles could never give him..
it would be magical.
