I'm sure this topic has been done before, but I can't seem to find it. I've been having an issue recently where I look at posts by lower levels with lower post counts and think to myself, "Well, that's fucking dumb." Whereas if another user posts the same thing (i.e. Gagsy or Cootie - no offense in the shoutout) I'll be more likely to laugh at the comment made.
The same goes for the creation of topics. This isn't a malicious lashing out to mods because I have no reason to be, but it seems as if a user with a lower level/post count makes a semi-spam topic it will be locked, but a higher level/higher post count creates a similar topic it will reach 15 pages.
Obviously there are a few exceptions to the rule as always, but how does everyone else feel? I feel bad about looking at these posts as dumb or unfunny but for some reason it comes natural sometimes.

Well I try not to notice post counts and sign-up dates which usually works fine. However I do agree about the level thing though - unless it's some user I've known for a long time who just refuses to level up ever.
There is just something almost novice about posters with beginner levels :(
Even though some of them do have some decent things to say.

Generally speaking, users with higer postcounts and higher levels have already been established with the community, so we relate to them more and "appreciate" them, if you will.

There was a thread made the other day about '7 8 9', i can't remember what user made it but i think it was TehSlapHappy and everyone humped over it even though they posting about 2 words and 3 numbers. There's nothing wrong with it, just because they are well known over the BBS they get more attention (like mods).
People with higher levels are here for a reason other than the BBS.
People who have been here longer have at least generally gotten over the novelty of making truly awful threads all the time (though this is not a universal rule)
And older people, obviously, are older. It makes a difference.

I suppose users with higher levels have been around here longer and are generally aware what makes a good post. There is obviously the odd exception (Ultor comes to mind) but for the most part I think you're right.

That is probably true for almost all forums.
I think there is a strong correlation between age and and level/rank.
Typically, you're going to have a 12 year old create a new account and be an immature 12 year old. Just that simple. And they keep getting younger. Let me explain an example.
I am a moderator on another website. While I was lurking around I saw a kid had posted this:
"Yea, I've been here since I was 5."
WTF?!? 5? Surely not...or am I just really out of touch with kids?

Tom himself says that users with higher levels often demand "greater respect" and I think the same is true for higher post counts as well. I think it may have something to do with people knowing for a fact that you are just joking around and are sure that you do indeed know the rules.

I also forgot something in the topic. Properly capitalized names with no numbers in them. That's another thing that I seem to overlook. Again, no offense to users like this but it's just a natural thing I do.
