I'm trying to make a side scrolling beat em up game, but I'm having a little bit of problems with the sidescroll, you see, I made the wall be the ground and it does block the player, but it still scrolls the game, how do I fix?
I made this new topic because the old one did not get help and i think its because people think it was already answered
There a great deal of ways to do such a thing. One way is to have a variable on your person be true or false depending on whether he is hitting a wall or not. Then you need the scroll code to check for this true or false before it actually scrolls your screen. We would have to know how your wall collision and scrolling is set up before giving you a more specific answer.
If you post your code, try and limit it to the scroll code and the wall collision. Most people don't want to read through 200+ lines of code for something that only involves 10 lines.
Here's how you do it:
1) Pull down your pants
2) Punch yourself in the fucking balls
3) Repeat until the background stops moving
If after multiple attempts that fails, you could actually try listening to people giving you advice, or shut the fuck up, bitch, and do it yourself.
I'm sorry, that was not me posting that message, it was my brother who always wants to get me in trouble, please help?

The oldest one in the book.
