I am going to buy it, my friends convinced me how funny it was, because everyday they would mention "Wallace" to me and for Christmas i told them that i would buy it and watch it so i could talk to them about it. So i guess this kinda canceled out my OP when i said i didn't get caught up in things.

i saw it thrice (almost fancy word) in theaters and i got it the day it came out, one of the best comedies of all time imo

You make up your culture by being who you are along with your peers. You like this movie because it suits you. And its so fucking awesome, you suit it. Its got nothing to do with being a sheep. You're cultural preferences have to do with who you are. And the fact is that if you want more of you in the world (I'm not sure I want more of you in the world), then you've got to go out and buy things that you like so that people have money to make more of the kinds of things you like. Ultimately, by serving your culture you're serving yourself.

Michael Cera was the perfect actor for the role. I don't know why people irrationally hate him so much. I don't buy the "He plays the same role in every movie" shit, because almost every comedy actor does the same thing.

This is obviously the main issue with those of you who didn't enjoy it. What I don't understand is, if you don't like the guy because he plays the same kind of character all the time, why are you upset that the character he's playing in this film has that tough streak about him? Isn't that what you're all asking for? His role as Scott Pilgrim did require Cera to try new things as an actor and your inability to see past his prior roles and allow yourself to be engaged in the suspension of disbelief required for you to enjoy so many other movies says more about you than it does a diversifying actor.

I can understand that, I just don't get how its an embarrassment to be a nerd. Now teens are getting those real 3D glasses and taking off the lens and calling themselves nerds, this trend is just getting so damn confusing.
