How to save TF2. Dec. 18th, 2010 @ 09:46 AM Reply

- Remove trading.
- Remove crates and keys. Keep the store.
- Remove the Australian Christmas update.
- Remove the Mann-Connomy update hats.
- Remove the Polycount weapons.
- Remove all promotional items.
- Allow the Demoman to use the Gunboats.
- Delete all hats that were obtained after the Mann-co update.
- Make hats harder to obtain.

And thus Team Fortress 2 was made playable again.

Be grateful, the xbox 360 version is good in the fact it isn't bogged down with so much extra shit.

Not that I've ever played TF2, but this is the reason I think it's shit:
Go on steam
See an item on sale
Think "Why should I purchase this?"
See "FUKKIN TF2 HAT!" in the corner.

EVERY DAMN GAME.

Good morrow to you, Magistrate!

Are you insane?

I'm not spoiled so I can't buy items from the store, but I have gotten so much good trades with the trading system, never ever got scammed etc.

Also, why destroy the update hats?

Why no Christmas update?

Only thing I don't like is the crates, getting them instead of other items or hats, and no droppable keys, fuick.

So instead we would have to play for even more hours on end just to get the item we didn't want anyway?

- Remove crates and keys. Keep the store.

Meh, no real opinion on that.

- Remove the Australian Christmas update.

Why would you do such a thing?

- Remove the Mann-Connomy update hats.

MORE HATS MORE HATS MORE HATS

- Remove the Polycount weapons.

Again, why? They're a nice set of different weapons to use different tactics.

- Remove all promotional items.

I semi-agree, but all promotional items have the same stats as the weapon they're based off of.

- Allow the Demoman to use the Gunboats.

Sticky jumper.

- Delete all hats that were obtained after the Mann-co update.

HAT FORTRESS 2 DOESN'T AGREE.

- Make hats harder to obtain.

Alright now you're just retarded.

And thus Team Fortress 2 was made playable again.

No, it's ruined after something like that. It's like giving a kid a lollipop and after a few minutes taking it from him and beating him with it.

The only people that complain are the people that are bad at the game.

I've been using vanilla everything (with the exception of Soldier medal and equalizer) and it doesn't stop me from steamrolling people on every server.

Y'all mad.

All I got was a note saying I'll have to buy my own present.

The problem with new items is that stupid noobs now don't realise that just because an item is vanilla, it's worse than the newer items.

I still use the default Spy loadout, top scoreboards every time. Fuck all of this saharan shit.

Why the hell would you want the hats to be harder to obtain? They already have a cap on how many items you can get a week and hats have an extremely low drop rate. Making it harder would just be ridiculous. Also why remove hats and weapons people enjoy? If you don't like the don't use them and let others enjoy.

Also trading is very helpful especially with the item cap to help everyone get what they want.

If I find another fucking pair of gunboats I'm going to go crazy.

Wish the game were back to the way it was before the Medic update. Those were the good days. And to anyone who posts "Just play the beta", you start with most of the unlocks so it really doesn't change anything.

Thats stupid. Without the added weapons, the way you play would remain the same, and the game would get boring and die out really fast. Not to mention, spies wouldn't exist if it weren't for the spy update.Too many spycheckers. Adding all these weapons added diversity to the game and made it more enjoyable due to each weapon having use for different ways to play enforcing different strategies. I do wish that the weapon drop rate were a little higher though, as it takes HOURS and HOURS of playing just to get a a shit item you didn't want like the Scottish Resistance. I got like 4 of those damn things in a row once.

All this update shit is only a big deal if you make it one, if you want to play vanilla TF2 just use the Beta or go to a vanilla server.

I don't know how many vanilla servers there are on TF2 PC but considering the amount of players who don't like the new items and stuff, I feel Valve should give great support for vanilla mode. Having that as well as servers that allow items would make both parties happy. Additionally, while I'm happy with most of TF2 right now, I would like it if they abolished crates. It's rather stupid having to get items that you can only use by PURCHASING keys.
