Sweden paranoid after bombing. 2010-12-15 13:31:45 Reply

Hi, i am Swedish and even i think the government has gotten paranoid after the failed bombing in Stockholm, and now our parliament have decided to vote on a new law to store information about everyone, e-mails sms:s and etc.

What's your opinion on this?

Feel free to read this article from a Swedish newspaper, you'll probably need to use google translator though XD http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/articl e8280834.ab

Is this the beginning of a new dictatorial era in Europe??

I would imagine there are people who have all your most sensitive and personal information and would give it to the government instantly if requested anyway, they're just cutting out the middleman

Sweden is one of the most liberal countries in the world, so i doubt something like them already having information about the citizens is likely at all, however due to pressures from larger nations like France Great Britain & The US of A it's not impossible that a larger co-operation effort than of that that was recently released to the public exists to stop the terrorist threats expected in the near future.

How could you dare assume that the state that has provided you with so much could possibly do you wrong? In fact I think you should hand over even more freedoms to them out of gratitude and knowledge that they probably know what's best for you anyway!

Just wanna say before i start that i am a liberal, whilst the government is conservative.

The minister of justice Beatrice Ask is to busy with suspected criminals she ignores the guilty ones, secondly if you don't even live in Sweden how can you say that us Swedes deserve less right?

I'd rather has liberty & freedom than restrictions, if i have a rock and i don't see any serial killers around does that mean my rock keeps serial killers away?
