It's REALLY amazing, and I especially like the random lines drawn to single parts somewhere in the ocean, where some single or more guys have a computer, it's a really nice thing

Wow that's pretty awesome. I found it interesting how it basically drew out the shapes of continents and countries based on their facebook usage, and essentially connecting the dots. It really shows you what parts of the world either don't access it or don't care about it.
How come only the East of America is as bright as it is, whereas the West isn't? Dunno if it's a $$ thing or facebook isn't as accessible there or what?

Yeah, Russia is a massive social networking market, however it's absolutely dominated by a locally hosted site called Vkontakt, or some hit like that. I remember reading an article about a US anti-piracy lobbyist group trying to get the site taken down for hosting music files openly.

"Vkontakte" which is basically EXACTLY facebook, but then with a little more spam and money oriented campaign.

I remember something like that being released a while ago, linked to on Techcrunch or something. It was pretty outdated, though. I remember Ireland being dominated by Bebo (or another network along those lines), but I believe Facebook has taken a tighter grip since, though.
