Asio4all Question 2010-12-14 03:01:38 Reply

Does using the ASIO4ALL drivers in FL Studio improve sound quality, or just reduce the load on the processor? I finally started using the drivers, and it seems like my music is sounding clearer. But it could all be in my head.

It doesn't improve the quality of the audio playback per se. But if you were/are getting any kind of artifacts due to stress on the sound cards primary driver, then ASIO4ALL should help eliminate that with the improved processing, thus appearing to sound better, when it's really just faster.

Hope that helped.

Those drivers should just cut latency and processor strain. It's possible it sounds clearer because of fewer processing artifacts from less overburdened CPU, but otherwise not likely.
