also, i think most of Yourix's egotism is from me making no secret of the fact that his music makes me jizz my pants. ok, that's an exaggeration, but he's the main reason i listen to DnB, as it's a genre that previously i wasn't too fond of.
Oh. I was just wondering how his music became liked. The overly compressed and sometimes distorted and loud drum loops he uses are beyond me. And half the time he uses presets, which is fine, but it becomes trite. I've always had something, not against Yourix, but the idea of Yourix's way of being an artist. Nothing against him, he's a cool guy.

just a warning guys - keep the jabs to other artists at a minimum - arawrds discussion threads have a history of crashing and burning.. and we are all above that.
That is unless someone from general walks into here - then we all jump on them like a venereal disease. :P
also these nominations are hilarious - keep em coming guys!

i can kinda see your point. his drums are over-compressed and distorted a lot, but i really do like his sound, poor mastering/mixing skills aside. luckily for me, i don't mind that, and actually, at times i don't even notice. i also like the instruments he uses. for example, his song My True Origin. i like his use of saxophone in that track. anyway, i was just stating my opinion, i realize Youri's music isn't for everyone. I just happen to find it catchy :)

I have 69 uploads for 2010, and I doubt I'm mentioned, not that I deserve to be. It just makes me feel unknown despite my mass uploading of what I'd consider to be at least decent music.
Then again I can't name a whole lot of artists cept for myabe <10 that I really really like.

1- learn the definition of egotistical, i am in fact an incredibly sociable individual, i am however elitist yes i very much admit that. I believe that music is bound to 'rules.
and that decides the quality of the music, and personally im more concentrated on melody and harmony rather than what is the conventional standart of quality. (rythm and mixing)
At worst call me unconventional but all that juvenile misplaced hatred is just completely out of place.
2- I quitted putting my music here for two very distinct reasons, i was hardly getting feedback wich was the only reason i even putted my music on here, i didnt 'make' music 'for' newgrounds, i just give it away freely via newgrounds. Second the atmosphere was like you can see in that tears filled portal award entry topic anti calamaistr so a giant middlefinger to those.
Might i add that i just finished another album and the only way newgrounds gets it for free is when the audio portal changes (wich it is, slowly), now the jokes on you.
Original, classical and retro videogame music composer. pm me for (free) hire, depending on your project i will make you a ost.

The joke would be on us-- if we cared about your new album.

I really need to lsiten to more people- when the redesign coems I promise I will try more.
It just seems everyone just links me to their stuff these days so I never bother checking anyone out on my own, sincethe charts change by thre second and thus poorly represent anything worthwhile listening to half the time..

Chron, MiddleIs is most likely a fraud, a guy posing as the real artist. We've had the drama over on TAP. "She" was the one who originally won the previous RAC, but then turned out to be a fake.
Just a heads up. Thanks for the NG username on that note, I couldn't think of it first, otherwise I'd have passed the information to Wade earlier. :p

hmm I dunno - I mean the mastering on the song she submitted isn't really the best.. so it's not like she stoel a pro song.. but in any case.. whoever made the originals.. great song.

In chronamut's world - the behaviour you see from chron is actually mild compared to everyone else who is liek chron in chron's world - don't ever forget that.
