I did, and am very grateful for that! :D
Man,
I'm so glad I stumbled across this. I will definitely put something together for this.
but what should I do...
No one pays ME in gum...
Is it ok if I remove some of the static in my submission, cause my mike sometimes causes static when I record.

Yes, that is a compression method and is allowed. Voice modifiers, however, are not.
Script is nearly done and I almost have all the SFX and music I need...except one. Does anyone know where I can find the sound of a pistol falling to the floor (or something similar)? I've searched all of the sound websites documented here with no luck.
I dont think Ill be able to make it in time, been having a writer's block, and can't really come up with an idea, although I can't wait to see who comes out on top :)
Hey guys, due to the fact that the due date for this contest is a bit to... short.
I have decided to extend this contest by a bit. This way the contest will be able to develop a bit more and give people the same amount of time the other contests gave.
THE FINAL DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 1ST 11:59PM NG TIME.
I will post this on the beginning of each page as an urgent reminder.
I will be joining also! One question though, can we do a sort of poetry thing? Because my idea is a poem with multiple characters about how the holidays REALLY are... is that ok?
I'm lead guitarist in the band Physio Prodigy, EYA!
Seizures are just your body's way of telling you your not Metal enough...

Does that help you Artell?
Nice find Audio, I was searching for him too, but couldn't find anything. I was almost about to record me dropping my shotgun for him, but I kinda didn't want to drop it ya know haha. Also it would sound completely different.
Alright managed to finish a script, have my lines recorded, just gotta find some good music for it. :)
And VOILA!
My Contest Entry!
Hope you like it

Oh, thank god the deadline got moved. Just remembered I signed up for this, I better get started.
Immensely. Many thanks, good sir!

Sorry, thought I had hit "Reply and Quote." Thanks for the link, AudioVision!
This looks like something good to get me started. I will submit a small piece as soon as I get all the materials ready.
Thanks for putting this on!

Here's my entry, hope you like it.
Keep em coming guys, we still have a few weeks left :)
Fellow voice actors, I have one final request for assistance, for I am still largely new to all of this. Does anyone know how to make dialogue sound like it's "coming from the other end of a phone line?"
I don't need the dialogue to be comprehensible (for THIS script, anyway). Basically I just want to "walla in" some background phone chatter to pair with another character's lines, so it sounds like the character who is there in the scene (and whose lines you can actually understand) is talking to another character on the phone.
Hopefully this'll be the last thing I need to ask about before I get my submission all up ins.
Hey artel, what recording program do you use? I use Adobe Audition 3 and I know that I can highlight the part I want to add an effect to and click on the effects tab. It'll have a drop down and I can use one of the equalizers to change it. I know Adobe Soundbooth CS5 (I have that too) has an effect labeled as telephone. I'm sure Audacity has that too, in either effects if they have that or tools. I've never used Audacity :/ You could probably lower the volume of the "on the other end of the line" lines maybe lower the bass and up the treble.
Worse comes to worse, you could step away from the mic and mumble something. Not sure if any of this helps. Sorry man.
Incase you have Audacity I found a little guide thing. I hope that helps man.

Much appreciated! I use Audacity, so I think I'll get some use out of that link. While Pro Tools Essential came with my mic, I haven't sat down and taken the time to actually learn how to use the damn thing. One of these days...
Mine is on the way. I caught a low case of pneumonia and I was in the hospital. But I'M GONNA SUBMIT SOMETHING TONIGHT!!

Awesome man, I'm glad that it was at least some help. I had a software that came with my Samson, I believe it was Cake or Cakewalk or something, and it just sucked. I hope the one that came with yours is any good.

Voila! My submission for this contest! Hope ya'll like it.
I did everything you hear in it, including the rendition of Jingle Bells in the background.
Hey Freyas, I sent you a PM. I hope it helps.
Just to remind everyone:
THE DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 1ST 11:59PM NG TIME.
***It was moved a few weeks ago because it was apparent to me that I gave far to little time for contestants to create and adequate piece of work***
Also, we need judges! Send me a PM if you want to be one. :)
dumb question,
but if it goes a little over 6 minutes is that okay? I didn't plan on mine being so long.

I believe Fatkid said earlier that a little over 6 is ok but no where near 7. Unless he changed his mind :)
