I think that the announcement of Elder Scrolls 5 is the main event of 2010! I hope that Bethesda will provide some information about this project as soon as it's possible!

I hope they make the use of potions more important in the game, because alchemy was so money.

I did just say so money

Sure does. Apparently it'll make our consoles/PCs look like next gen or something. They must be very confident about it.

Dragonborn Dragonborn
By his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercest foes rout
When they hear triumph's shout
Dragonborn for your blessing we pray

And the scrolls have fortold
Of black wings in the cold
That when brothers wage war come unfurled
Alduin bane of kings
Ancient shadow unbound
With a hunger to swallow the world

I've had a sudden Elder Scrolls craving. I need to know more about this game. I'm not content with the little knowledge I have of it, but I'm sure that's a common feeling amongst you all.

Jackho mentioned Arena and Daggerfall in a different thread, and I've decided to install Arena again so that I have something to do in my spare time at uni.

I need to know more about Skyrim right now :(

Man, I feel like ordering the Game Informer magazine right now just so I can get that 14-page coverage of Skyrim. I honestly cannot wait for this game to come out and I am fairly positive that it will wind up being my favorite game of all time just like Oblivion used to be.

Posting some scans.

They'll probably be too small to read, but hopefully you'll be able to see the pictures, at least.

This thing looks like a yeti or a werewolf of some sort.

Which is good, of course, because I've been waiting for werewolves ever since Bloodmoon.

In the red box, this one mentions a guy called "Aludin", among other characters, who's a Godlike, massive dragon who I would assume is going to be the main villain.

Does the article cover anything at all about the gameplay and game features, or is it mainly based on the storyline and such?

Oh yes.

- Dual wielding any combination of 2 weapons (even dual shields)
- Shield bashing and finishing moves
- Dragons confirmed
- Dragons will sometimes fly over towns and/or land in the middle of them
- Dual wielding spells (for example, a 'touch' lightning spell in one hand, a ranged fire spell in the other)
- Characters exhibit more emotion, and the character models are better (there's a scan of a blonde lady in a shop demonstrating this, but I can't find it)
- If you drop a heavy weapon in the middle of a town, a small boy may pick it up and run up to you and ask if you would like it back. Sometimes, two men will find it on the street and start fighting over who takes it home
- Combat from Dark Messiah (which was apparently really good)
- All objects in the environment now have shadows, allowing for more hiding places
- There are mountain giants, frost trolls, giant spiders, and even ice demons from Akavir among other new enemies such as dragons
- I think there are 4 types of environment: mountains, snow, forest, and Nord ruins
- There are 5 cities (not towns, cities)
- Facial hair customization and body customization
- A total of 20 races to choose from
- All enemies now look unique
- More voice actors
- You don't pick your skills from the start so that you can decide what you want later
- The skill leveling system's different (at least, I think it is)
- Sprinting (uses the fatigue bar)
- Lots and lots of other stuff that I can't seem to remember right now

Someone has already posted this scan in the PS3 Online Lounge, but I'll post it here for you guys.

It really does sound awesome and I want it more than ever now. I'm just glad to finally have some information on the actual game.

Something that I still really want to know is the size of the map. Looking at a map of Tamriel, Skyrim seems quite a bit smaller than Cyrodiil, although quite a big part of the Cyrodiil map is actually water, so it might even out.

So yeah, giant spiders.

Which basically means stumbling into the wrong dungeon at level 2 and running away like a little girl is confirmed.

I'm hoping that unlike Oblivion, the enemies in Skyrim don't level with you. It's always more fun to encounter something that you have no chance in hell of defeating.

Oh, definitely. I think it was yesterday that I posted about wanting to know some more information about the gameplay and some of the features, and now that I finally have something to go on I'm more excited than ever. Now I just have to wait for November to come around.

Perhaps it is smaller because they are going to be doing fewer cut and paste jobs in arranging the environment.

Perhaps we will be treated to a landscape wherein you don't feel a sense of deja vu every hundred metres you travel.

We can only hope.

These screenshots and details are leaving me with some eager anticipation. Bring on the release date!

All this new information has gotten me excited. Especially the idea that dragons might randomly fly into a town. Even though it doesn't seem like a big new thing, it sounds awesome. I want to get this magazine.
