Or the muffle spell and an illusion skill of at least 50 so you can get the quiet casting perk.

Never heard of battlemages? It's been a class since the start I believe.
I'm talking about people who never use swords and claim to be a straight made and yet use armor. Also, I am pretty sure Magicka increasing enchantments work better on robes and hoods. That is what I've been told.
Battlemages normally use melee and magicka.

Although the General is an old jerk with an intolerance to the Nord culture, I find the Imperial side to be the more 'right' option when choosing sides. I'm too lazy to support this opinion at the moment... but I will say that they appreciate the Orcs for their battle prowess, which is more than what the Stormcloaks would do.

This morning I came across an Orc, A Khajiit, and a Dunmer all dressed in Imperial armor. Next to them were three dead imperials, stripped of all their gear. The soldiers charged me a small fine for interfering with Imperial business. Naturally, being a law abiding citizen, I paid the fine and walked away.
Not really. I blew them up.

So? Let them play the game how they want to. It's not affecting you in any sort of fashion.

The penalty for doing so if losing the better enchantments given to you by the robes. You can't gain that from Armor, and even with enchanting you can always find/do better with robes.

I'm a mage that wears the Archmage robe. Fuck armor.

I was saying for ME it doesn't make sense. It is a single player game, it doesn't affect me. Just using robes seems to be more powerful.

Reached level 18 on my Orc Heavy Warrior and he be sportin' that Orc armor and lookin' like Ghengis freaking Khan. Also, I've been working on the Imperial Quests some, took a Fort, killed a courrier (?) and hid her body in a river to fake some intel, and all that goodness.
Also, I've come to realize, Beserk makes beating the shit out of Dragons ridiculously easy. I just Beserk when they land and rape their face with my Elven Battle Axe. I love those big ass death bringers, I just swing left and right and take out 3 or 4 bandits at the same time. (what the hell were they thinking? "Quick! Rush the Orc decked out in Heavy armor swinging around an Axe that's half the size of us!")
But beside doing those quests, I've taken to leveling my Smithing. The one thing I don't like about leveling up by Smithing a ton of iron daggers, is that when I level, I haven't leveled my combat so it doesn't matter if I have a 100 in Smith, my enemies will still kick my ass when they're all leveled up combat wise while I don't have anything but the perks on my side. I feel the need to only level half way on by smithing and then do the rest in Heavy armor and Two Handed. Or else I fee like my enemies will have improved Base damage while I can't even get the higher tier perks to help out in that regard.
Even as I walk through the shadow of the Valley of Death, I shall fear no Evil. Semper Fidelis

Pre-existing robes tend to have very powerful enchants on them, far better than ones you could enchant yourself. The only real reason to stick with the Archmage robes, indeed for not using any armor at all, is the Mage Armour perk. Max it out and keep Ebonyflesh up when in battle and your about as tough as someone decked in Dragonplate.

Just made an orc two handed warrior myself. I got really bored of my Bosmer archer because he was incredibly overpowered. No jokes, archery and sneak are for babby's first Elder Scrolls, I have no idea why I chose them.
The berserk thing discourages me a little, so I might stray from using it. Out of curiosity, what difficulty are you playing on? I notched it up to the highest difficulty and had to use Berserk on the final boss during the Golden Claw quest, because he was two-shotting me otherwise.

Damn, I really want this game. I can't get it now because I don't have a PS3 or Xbox 360 and my computer is shit for gaming. When I get an Xbox 360, I will get this game.

First time not playing Skyrim since it came out, with the exception of Rock Band a few times. I'm still getting temptations to play it just reading this thread.
Also, something cool happened yesterday which I didn't know could. I waited until night and massacred a few people and guards in Whiterun because a guard cursed everyone by saying "I heard it, Howling, those Werewolf stories are true!", which reminded me I could kill everyone and get away with it. But anyway, after that I neatly arranged all the bodies in the market square so it looked cool, and then slept until morning, then I got up and went to see everyone and what they were doing. Then all of a sudden a guard comes up to me asking if I know anything about it, I decided to take the suspicious route, all "I'm not answering any questions", and what not, then he tried to arrest me but I resisted. My bounty wasn't 10 murders high, but still, that never happened in Oblivion, you could just jump around the bodies and no one would bat an eyelid.

I heard that prices could be affected by your actions, e.g., destroy a towns crops, and food prices will go up. Does anyone know if this is in the game?

There is some truth to that. Nords being modeled off of vikings while the Imperials are modeled from the Romans being the most obvious of all though. They should add a new hilarious Cajun race lmao.

My glorious piece of art is a reference to Skyrim. Yours is not.

Alright guys, enough of the childish arguing over who it originally belongs to. I think we can all agree no matter what it's pretty badass.
On a Skyrim game related note, anyone had to battle more than two Dragons on the ground at the same time, and I mean on the ground. I don't mean one is flying overhead and another is down with you. I came close to it the other day, killed one as another landed nearby.
Yea, I farm Anal Penguins. Do something about it.
