Happy Birthday, DOOM!
hey
U jelly?
Or maybe it has something to do with doom being one of the original FPS?
We're meat and that's it. So lets fuck it, fuck it, fuck it.
Minecraft: JuJitsuLipShitz
COD4 was pretty good too. Especially for a COD.

WRONG, RIP AND TEAR!
"I think it passing odd that I am loved by one for a kindness I never did, and reviled by so many for my finest act." ~ Jaime Lannister
Duke Nukem was way fucking better than Doom but in all respect it did come out 3 years later and all.
Also I find it chilling that Doom is older than most people who use this website.
This is a really subjective matter, but yes, I sort of agree that Doom was a great game.
Although, you can't really say that it's the greatest game of all time, I still have Doom installed on my old computer, and I rarely play it. When I'm looking for nostalgia, I usually play Half Life, Dungeon Keeper II, Goblins 1 - 3, Commander Ken and etc. By the way, in Doom, there's a special level where in order to get to the end switch, you have to kill 4 Commander Kens. I don't remember whether if it's Doom 1 or 2. If anyone is kind enough to remind me, I'd be glad.

That's Doom II. There were two bonus levels in Doom II. Both of them were levels taken from Wolfenstein 3D. The end of the second level had the Commander Keens as you thought. I can't recall needing to shoot them, though but it is amusing to do so.
As for Doom's birthday, 17 isn't much of a special age for a game. I wouldn't say it's the greatest game ever (I wouldn't say that to any game) but it's definitely a game that stuck out to me very well even if I only first played it two years ago when I bought it on Steam. Ever since, I've played it a few times and always enjoy going through the levels again. I'd say that shows how much of a good game Doom really is. It's become a classic in video games and many gamers still love it even to this day.
Doom was awesome, But I liked the original Diablo better
Blizzard FTW

The two aren't even comparable.
Anyways why hasn't there even been a reviewer of old DOS games? That's primarily where my video game nostalgia is anyways.
Happy birthday DOOM!
It's a fantastic game, certainly in the running for best ever.
I've been playing the DOOM games on and off for years, lately with various source ports (can't stand the DosBox emulation that was packaged with the games on Steam). I love a less pixelated DOOM with mouselook and I don't get carsick playing it.
Although I've gone through DOOM/Ultimate DOOM a number of times I must admit to never having legitimately beaten DOOM II. =[
Gonna try again. =]
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.
