You know, I am fucking sick of looking at this word. Every time someone uses it, it's like an opportunity for them to be a smartass and act like they're the better man or something. If the mass opinion (And I don't mean over half, I mean like 95% of the fucking population) says the game is bad, it probably is bad and you're finding reasons to like it, but instead of accepting that, every fucking sentence on the VG forum has the word "opinion" in it. Anyway, Epic Mickey sucks. Although, every game commercial is going to say the game is great, what do you expect? "Buy our disappointing game" doesn't exactly connect with people.

Anyway, as far as Epic Mickey goes, truthfully, I hate just about everything Disney-related. With that in mind, my opinion of the game probably would be pretty biased against it, even though I haven't touched it yet. So I'll leave it off at that.
Either way, I strongly doubt its going to win Game of the Year, especially considering there are many games that have already made a hell of an impact in 2010 while Epic Mickey only just got released not too long ago, and many of the scores it got were pretty mediocre. Anyone who says its the game of the year is simply counting chickens before they hatch.

Epic Mickey's got a neat style with it different from what most Disney-related stuff goes, but I honestly didn't find anything special about it when it got hype. Seems like it turned out the way I thought it would. Not total rubbish but not necessarily great. Any ad can self-proclaim itself in any way, but I don't think a commercial would go that far. Probably quoting something a retarded IGN editor's opinion to hype up the game.

I didn't mind the game, and for a Wii game it was pretty damn good, but yeah, GOTY material it is not. Maybe a couple of years ago. Not up against such material as ME2, Starcraft 2, and whatever the hell else games you can pull out of your ass.

For all you saying, "How can you compare Black Ops with Epic Mickey? They're totally different games." It is fine and dandy to compare the two when you're talking about Game of the Year, since that includes all games of all genres. If I was comparing Grand Theft Auto IV to... Tony Hawk's Project 8, I would definitely say that GTA is the better game of the two, if they were nominated for the same category.

As someone who liked Epic Mickey, I will agree that using that "Game of the year" tag was dumb. It is in no way, shape, or form GOTY, not when <Insert game that received a consistent 9 or above> came out this year as well. I think the game is good, but I also think it doesn't deserve GOTY status since it lacks the polish that most games had gotten.
